      Well to start with if you have a larger amount of funds at your disposal, say $100 000+ then they are more than willing to offer you a better interest earning rate, in my case 2% more than the norm. Our financial planner has always been extremely helpful and always keen in bettering our options and even as far as better ways at saving on costs and fees. Overall I would not change banks.

      They do not care about the average account holder. There is never enough staff in branches and their overall interest rates for term deposits are terrible. Also they do not pass on all interest rate cuts.       Full review

      ANZ term deposits and in particular, online savings are well below average compared with the competition. When asked if they could even try to match the other banks, their answer was take it or leave it, even though it was a considerable amount. ...       Full review

When asked if they could even try to match the other banks, their answer was take it or leave it, even though it was a considerable amount. Perhaps they are making enough money from other sources to bother, and try to be competitive with other banks. This statement by the way,was confirmed by two branch managers when i approached them. Obviously, the team in their ivory towers are not interested at all. This says something about the salaries they are receiving,does it not?

They remember my name and little snippets of news from my last visit, they engage with me on a personal level and yet they still maintain an air of confidence reflected in their intimate knowledge of the product they sell. Yes they stand out,why? because the staff are all of the same commitment they are the greatest asset and they care.

      A lot of banks throw around the phrase "get your money to work for you". The problem is, however, that they often use it incorrectly. If you have to read about many money saving options, analyse fine print, select an option, visit your bank, fill out paperwork, watch over your money to ensure you've making the best returns and remember the day that your account matures in order to repeat this process every 6 to 12 months, then it really seems like you're doing most of the work. My experience with ANZ is simple. I will have to find time to visit a branch to renew a term deposit, but after that, I need not do anything until my account matures, at which point I receive a reminder in the mail. I think that, while it may be a nuisance physically getting to a branch to do this, it is very useful having the rest done for me. While it may not be my money working for me, someone is, and that someone is not me.

      Every time I enquire about my account, I get a different answer and end up being told that this is the wrong type of account for me and I need some other type of account. I am then expected to lose any interest I should have or thought I was going...       Full review 

      Every time I enquire about my account, I get a different answer and end up being told that this is the wrong type of account for me and I need some other type of account. I am then expected to lose any interest I should have or thought I was going to get, and create a new password to have a new account that in the end is no better. I get very confused and annoyed.

      The convenience of working with ANZ won't be beaten by any other bank. The quality of the service, the trustworthiness is also a product of being in the market for so long. I really love ANZ because I feel that they care about me as a person, and they treat me as a valued customer. You feel this in the air the moment you walk into any branch. Once a really nice clerk at the branch suggested me to open a term deposit account, I was not thinking anything like that at that time, but she explained to me how easy it was in a very warm, but professional manner, so right away, I was delighted to open the term deposit account. That was about 5 years ago, and I still continue using their term deposit account.
