There are so few Bank of SA Atm's and branches in Victoria, and yet they still charge like a wounded bull to use other banks ATMs!

Complete freedom is the account. I believe its features are great. There are plenty of atms around so can mange not to get charged any extra fees. So basically when operated correctly its a fee free account.

My trust in BankSA has reduced since the takeover by other Eastern-State banks. BankSA used to have a good local rapport with me, but since the St George/Westpac [or whomever] takeover the charges have increased, and the service decreased.
It's my money... as little as that may be.

You have to maintain a $3000.00 balance to avoid monthly account charges which seems to be increasing periodically without notice.
The monthly charge now is $7.00 if your balance drops below $3000.00 which I personally believe to be excessive and it is the people who can least afford it that have to pay.

I have had my everyday bank account with BankSA since I was about 5 years old - when they were still called the State Bank. I remember when they went bust asking my dad if my money (it couldn't have been more than about $10!) was ok. It was and I guess that's partly why I am still loyal 21 years later.
Even though I live in Tamania at the moment, their Internet banking is convienient, and every once a year or so when I actually make it into a branch, the tellers are always helpful. For example last time they told me about a new account type that has less fees. Also, I found out about and got a Visa Debit Card through BankSA long before they were commonly availiable (about 8 years ago).
Personally, I have never had a problem with them, however i do have bank accounts with other banks - a high interest internet account with ANZ (BankSA didn't have one at the time) and an everyday account with the same credit union my parents use (they find it easier to deposit mone into my account if they have to with them as there are less forms to fill in). Basically, I still shop around but for most things I find BankSA quite helpful.

I don't think there are enough ATMs even though the advert says there are.
I hate paying a fee just because I can't find an ATM anywhere.

The service is always outstanding, they even forwarded payment of an account when I found myself in difficulty due to public holidays. No fees, but very little interest which balances out. An excellent everyday use account. As I'm a student it is perfect for me. My partner has the normal version which still has very small fees attached.

Being on a low income or no income most of the time, I hate the monthly fees- they are just profit making. Why can't they make a profit out of the bank's investments in general? They are also quick to slap on overdraft fees for only small amounts which are obviously accidental.

I had lost/misplaced quite a few cards over my time with BankSA so they set me up with an account number for my internet banking so I didn't need to re-register if I lost another card.

I like the unlimited transactions, I like the half monthly fees because its drawn on by the mortgage. I dislike the fact that I can put money into the account as a phone transaction, buy something with that money the next day, and have it recorded as a negative balance because the initial phone transfer didn't register for 12 hours. This irritates me because obviously the money is there or I wouldn't be able to buy the stuff, but I get charged an overdraft fee!! So annoying!

I have a transaction account that offers unlimited transactions which I think is great. It also offers a visa debit card at no extra cost. Only thing I'm not so fond of is the $2000 minimum deposit. Although I meet that criteria anyway, I just wonder about those who don't. Why does there need to be a minimum? As for the fees for non BankSA ATMs. I try and find a Westpac ATM and if I can't I pop by the supermarkets for a cash out. This saves me on those nasty fees from other banks.
