  Bendigo Bank employs staff that appear dedicated to their position and subsequent customer satisfaction. Our dealings with their loans department have been very good and many of our discussions are direct to the manager, either by phone, personal approach or email, the latter is always answered promptly. Although competitive rates do matter, it is of greater importance to be treated as an individual instead of a number. Good on you Bendigo Bank, you really are the Community Bank.

  We have lived in a small town for 41 years and have always banked with the bigger banks. Since Bendigo moved to our town, they will now have our business for good. They are a community bank and are always giving out grants to various community org...       Full review 

  We have lived in a small town for 41 years and have always banked with the bigger banks. Since Bendigo moved to our town, they will now have our business for good. They are a community bank and are always giving out grants to various community organisations, which is so important in a small town. My eldest daughter just started high school and at her gr 7 graduation, a rep from Bendigo bank gave out $25 account vouchers to all the students. Great incentive for kids to learn about banking, and made all the parents nod their heads in approval, keep up the good work Bendigo : )

  Be aware that all application have to be sent back to head office in Victoria, so things take a long time. If you're limited on time, you can find yourself with no other option than to take their loan because they hang onto your paperwork and send...       Full review 

  Be aware that all application have to be sent back to head office in Victoria, so things take a long time. If you're limited on time, you can find yourself with no other option than to take their loan because they hang onto your paperwork and send it away. The manager at the local bank doesn't have much authority, so it's really frustrating trying to get a better deal. It's much easier dealing with a bank where they have a lending manager who can give you approval the same day. Bendigo Bank take at least 3 weeks.

  I applied for a home loan form this bank in Dromana,Victoria. Because of my situation of being separated, and on a pension I was not confident of obtaining a home loan. The branch manager sat down with me and went through the range of loans that I could apply for that would suit my circumstances. I was going through a lot of grief at the time and after hour or so of talking she said that a loan could be granted to me on a fixed term of interest over 30 years, even though my age was sixty five. I can't speak for others, but there were no hitches and everything was explained to me in simple terms, before I signed the paperwork. There were no cons and I walked out of the bank feeling like a real person again.

  We changed to Bendigo bank because the Commonwealth had messed up finance we had arranged to buy a new house and we nearly missed out on the house. Bendigo stepped in and arranged a short term loan in order for us to proceed, and due to the complete lack of customer service at the Commonwealth we then changed all our accounts to the Bendigo. We get personal service the Manager comes out to greet us by name they have been fantastic.

  Their customer service is so much better than other banks. You can always talk to someone who knows you and your banking needs either in person or on the phone. They listen and provide options. Their outreach to the community is inspirational.       Full review

  Throughout the process of borrowing against our land to construct a new home, my bank manager has kept me fully informed of my options and completed and submitted all the necessary paperwork within the required timeframe. She has organised valuations and progress payments to the builder successfully. She advised us to open a mortgage offset account to reduce the amount of interest paid each month The advantage of this loan is that we did not have to mortgage our current residential property The only con so far is that at the first valuation, stage one of the construction was complete but they had to value the land only due to paperwork requirements. They also had to value the land + stage 1 at the same time. I felt that commonsense did not prevail at my expense as there is a fee for each evaluation. My bank manager tried all avenues available to waive this requirement

  Interest rate rises are virtually immediate, reductions take 1 or 2 months to take effect. I had some temporary financial problems and they abandoned me, taking me to court to acquire my house, costing me thousands in costs. I am now back on trac...       Full review 

  Interest rate rises are virtually immediate, reductions take 1 or 2 months to take effect. I had some temporary financial problems and they abandoned me, taking me to court to acquire my house, costing me thousands in costs. I am now back on track but financially less well off thanks to them (around $8000.00 in court and solicitors costs) One senior member of the branch that I deal with has an abrasive, rude, offensive manner about her and the branch manager is a dinosaur from the 50's with no people skills and is incapable of explaining bank products to any satisfaction.

  After years of being with another bank and becoming frustrated with the deteriorating customer service we decided to take all of our loans and accounts to our local community bank. Bendigo Bank has been a great supporter of our local schools and sporting clubs so we decided to discuss with them the transfer of all our banking business to them. It has been the best thing we have ever done. Their friendly and helpful staff are always at the counter willing to help and when you call them they call you back. It's great to actually talk to a face. My husband really loves them because they invite him to their yearly golf day. It doesn't get better than that!

  When I wanted to get finance someone in the local country area of Gin Gin where I live, recommended them to me. I was expecting an inheritance for the deposit for the house I was to purchase but the funds from the estate were weeks later in coming. In the interim the Bendigo bank pre-approved my loan, allowing me not to loose the contract on the "good deal" I was getting which saved me the contract due to the settlement date being overtime. I think people should really look for great customer service, Flexibility of the loan one requires. The probable down side of all loans is the interest rate and I possibly could have got a better interest rate but due to the flexibility of the loan I am a very happy customer.

  My bank manager will personally e-mail if there is a problem. My husband has had cancer this year and we have really struggled. She has wavered late fee and made contact to make sure we are doing ok. Love not being a number :)       Full review

  The branch we bank at is nearby in the town of Wentworth and the staff are friendly and supportive....all other banks in our town closed and we were without a bank. The closest bank being 12 km away ...we are pleased with our community bank       Full review

  We recently built a new house and had to refinance our loan including our line of credit. Our discussions with the Manager - yes our Community Bank has one you can talk to as well as other friendly staff - were very positive resulting in our structuring our loan and line of credit to our best advantage at a time when our employment arrangements were changing. I might add that our banking is linked to the bank's sponsorship of a local aged services program which recently received a new bus.   When I wanted to place additional money into a loan and change repayment schedule, it was no trouble. Paper work and transaction was completed while I was in Manager's office and paper work faxed in front of me in the bank's premises.
