  When we were looking for a home loan they went out of their way to let us know exactly all the fees and hidden extras we were up for. Some banks don't . They always inform us when rates go up or down. I just liked the service we got from them.       Full review

  They don't much show empathy when we are struggling. Westpac was much better. They never charged us 17% per day when we were late with our home loan repayment.       Full review

  I love my bank as they had faith in me! I was an unemployed single mum of 2 toddlers and the CBA were the only institution which would give me a home loan! They actually gave the time to consider my history and character, where as all the other in...       Full review 

  I love my bank as they had faith in me! I was an unemployed single mum of 2 toddlers and the CBA were the only institution which would give me a home loan! They actually gave the time to consider my history and character, where as all the other institutions just knocked me back straight away. And of course I paid off my home loan years ahead of time! My bank showed me faith and confidence which I in turn give them - Their belief in me I will never forget and will always treasure :D

  Great to have the WEALTH package for further discounts on home and contents insurance!! Also great as they allow us to pay extra off our loan anytime!! Only downfall is you cannot redraw funds on fixed loan - which is pretty standard - but this is great to use as a savings fund that you cannot get to and spend - cutting down some interest on your loan at the same time!!

  A major disadvantage with the offset account is that it has the same account number as the mortgage, so we can't use it as our main access account.   My Bank has been nothing but very supportive over the last five years. While times have been difficult for me they have adjusted my home loan payments when necessary and the understanding staff gave me all options so that I did not lose my home.   While we all need banks I think the only bad thing about them is the fees they charge on everything. You can't take your own money out of a machine without being charged for it and the rates can go up or down if they want to pass on any cuts from ...       Full review 

  While we all need banks I think the only bad thing about them is the fees they charge on everything. You can't take your own money out of a machine without being charged for it and the rates can go up or down if they want to pass on any cuts from the reserve bank. I think banks need to make money too but when you hear about the lavish lifestyles and pay rises the big bosses get after each financial year, it makes one wonder how on earth bad you trust those ppl. It's like they are giving you a comforting bear hug nice and tight with one arm whispering sweet nothings in your ear and taking your wallet from your back Pocket with the other arm.

  Commonwealth bank has a great online banking. For an extra $300 a year you can be a gold card member that gives you an extra discount on the interest rates that are good. The bad thing is that the interest levels don't seem to be passed down or it...       Full review

  The Commonwealth Bank has to be one of the safest pairs of hands when it comes to looking after my money. I've been with the bank for decades, and every complaint or query I have had during that time has been promptly and efficiently dealt with. The home loan I've got with the bank has been clearly explained - and customer service staff sitting by the phones never seem to mind how many times I ring up to check the latest interest rate and explain to me - again - how to calculate my monthly repayment. The bank' interest rate is one of the lowest going around - but even if it wasn't, I would still trust the bank with my money, and my home.

  After banking with them for the past 50 years and having a home loan with them for 20 plus years, they informed me on the death of my husband I would have to re apply for the home loan and there was no guarantee I would get it. In fact there was a very good chance I wouldn't due to my age. Talk about kicking you when you are down. Have changed my loan and am very happy with the lower rates
