AMEX credit card members get ready: Shop Small is Back!
In an attempt to highlight the importance of small businesses, credit card provider American Express has announced that it will be holding its 11th annual Shop Small Movement this November.
This “movement” encourages shoppers to show their support for small businesses by providing incentives.
Launched 1 November, this year's campaign offers small businesses across Australia the chance to win one of ten $10,000 grants to help support their growth. All American Express Shop Small businesses are automatically enrolled in the competition.
In addition, eligible AMEX card holders will also have the chance to win a share of 10 million points when they support small businesses. To enter the running, AMEX card holders have to register their cards in the competition on the AMEX website and they will gain one entry into the draw with each $1 or more they spend at a participating Small Shop businesses before 30 November 11.59pm (AEDT).
As well as this yearly campaign, AMEX also helps encourage people to spend with small businesses year around with its American Express Card Member offer.
Small businesses include your local cafe, local hair salon or boutique. If you’re not sure where to find a local business near you, there’s a map on the AMEX website.
“Since 2013, American Express has shone a spotlight on the importance of supporting the small business community through Shop Small as we believe that small businesses are the heart of communities and the backbone of our economy - but they need all of our support if they are to thrive,” says vice president and general manager of consumer and commercial services at American Express, Emily Roberts.
