Judging Criteria

Every day Mozo keeps track of thousands of products in banking, energy and insurance.

The Mozo Experts Choice Awards recognise international money transfer service providers that deliver exceptional value or benefits to consumers. Providers don’t pay to be in the running and we don’t play favourites. Our Judges base their decision on hard-nosed calculations of value, using Mozo’s extensive product database and research capacity.

Experts Choice Awards are awarded to the top 10% of products, up to a maximum of 10, that meet the selection criteria in each awards category.

FAQs

How many international money transfer providers were compared for the Mozo Experts Choice Awards?

In total we compared 28 providers of international money transfer services that are licensed in Australia. Of these 28, 12 providers are banks, including the big four and the remaining are specialist foreign currency providers that operate in Australia.

Do the winners of Mozo Experts Choice Awards have the cheapest exchange rates for all currencies?

For the Experts Choice Awards we chose to compare the currencies that are the most commonly transferred by Mozo users. These include USD, GBP, EUR.

If you are transferring funds in a currency different to these, we recommend that you use our International Money Transfer comparison tool to do your own comparison of all provider’s rates.

Another factor to consider is that the rate you will get could also depend on the amount of money that you plan on transferring. Our analysis looked at quotes for $5,000 and $60,000. If your amount is more or less than this then your results might be different.

I’m new to overseas money transfers, where can I find additional information on how it works and the security of my money?
