Now in their eleventh year, the Mozo Experts Choice Awards present an opportunity to recognise products in the market we believe offer great value to Australians.
For the 2024 Mobile Plans awards, our Experts assessed 49 telecommunications providers of personal mobile plans head to head.
“We rely on our smartphones for almost everything these days from doing our banking, working remotely, connecting with friends to keeping up with the latest news, but this connectivity comes at a price, which is why it is so important to find a mobile plan that meets your needs at a reasonable price,” said Mozo Experts Choice Awards judge AJ Duncanson.

Did you compare all mobile phone plan providers in the market for these awards?
We aim to include most mobile phone plan providers in the market in the Mozo Experts Choice Awards. Any plan or provider we review must be available at the time of our analysis and any offers included must be available to the general public on the provider’s website.
In carrying out the Mozo Experts Choice Awards for Mobile Plans 2024, we analysed 49 providers of personal mobile plans.
How do mobile phone plans work?
Mobile phones are one of the most important ways to stay connected for work, friends, and family. So for Australian consumers it’s a very competitive landscape to select from.
In Australia, you can simply sign up for a mobile phone plan with a provider and most will give you access to services such as phone calls, texting and mobile data to access the internet. It’s that easy. But what are the differences between the available products and services?
For a start, telco providers have different rates and charges, offer different network coverage and even deals, depending on what you sign up for. This is why doing some homework is important, making the Mozo Experts Choice Awards a great starting point.
Who are the Mozo Experts?
The Mozo Experts Choice Awards are overseen by AJ Duncanson and Peter Marshall. AJ is Mozo’s Data Director, a data scientist and actuary who has worked in financial services and product comparison for over 30 years. Peter has been in the industry even longer, and as Mozo's Financial Services Specialist he contributes to the team of analysts that gather information and compare products every day, and oversees the calculations and data quality used for producing the Mozo Experts Choice Awards.
