The top credit card incentives available now

Here at Mozo, we are known for uncovering any credit card rorts or traps we come across. But when providers do something right and offer great value incentives and freebie offers we are more than happy to highlight them and share the products with you.

So if getting more out of your credit card is on your to do list this New Financial Year, here are some of the latest offers that have hit the market, which could see you on a free domestic flight or with extra cash in your pocket in no time:

Free flights

1. ANZ Rewards Travel Adventures Card - Complimentary domestic return flight annually

Are you an avid traveller? Then meet ANZ’s newly launched Rewards Travel Adventures Card. The name says it all, coming with a free domestic return flight and two Virgin Australia lounge passes each year after you spend $500 in the first 3 months, as well as fee free transactions overseas and free international travel and medical insurance. While there is a $225 annual fee, if you take advantage of all these freebies they should more than make up for it.

2. American Express Platinum Edge Credit Card - Free domestic flight each year and 10,000 bonus points

This card comes with two enticing incentives: a free domestic flight with Virgin each year and a 10,000 bonus point offer after you spend $250 on the card in the first 2 months. You’ll earn 1 point per $1 spent and this is supercharged to 2 points for refilling at the bowser and 3 points at major supermarkets. That’s not all! The Platinum Edge Credit Card also comes with free travel insurance - if you’re a regular traveller that one feature alone could outweigh the cost of the $195 annual fee.

3. American Express Essential Credit Card - $50 cash back offer and $0 annual fee

Over the last 12 months, American Express launched its Essential Credit Card and the judges in the Mozo Experts Choice Australia's Best Awards were so impressed by all it had to offer that they gave it a New Product Award. So let’s dive into the details that make this card a top value product: there’s a $0 annual fee, low ongoing purchase rate of 14.99%, 1 point per $1 spent and a $50 cash back offer when you spend $500 in the first two months.

4. Bankwest Breeze MasterCard - 5% cash back offer for the first 3 months

If finding a credit card with competitive features, that earns you cash on your everyday spend is a must, then check out the Bankwest Breeze MasterCard. You’ll receive a super low 12.99% ongoing purchase rate, a lengthy 55 interest free days and a generous 5% cash back offer (up to $300) when you spend $500 in the first 3 months. And if you’re worried about high yearly fees, you might be happy to hear the Breeze MasterCard’s annual fee is just $59.

5. Coles No Annual Fee MasterCard - $10 off your Coles shop

Perhaps reducing the cost of your weekly shopping bill is a bigger drawcard than free cash. Well, if that’s the case you might be interested in the No Annual Fee MasterCard from supermarket giant Coles, which will reward you with $10 off a single shop every time you redeem 2,000 flybuys points. Other features of the card include an extremely generous 62 days interest free, 19.99% ongoing purchase rate and of course as the name suggests a $0 annual fee.

Bonus points

6. ANZ Rewards Platinum - 50,000 bonus points and 6 free insurances

With a low $95 annual fee and 50,000 bonus points up for grabs (when you make an eligible purchase in the first 3 months), the ANZ Rewards Platinum is the perfect option if you’re looking for a low cost platinum card to add to your wallet. You’ll have two payment methods to choose from: AMEX earning you 2 points per $1 spent or Visa with a slightly lower earning power of 1 point per $1 spent. Other platinum features include 6 insurances like travel insurance and purchase protection and the ability to earn bonus points at 30 bonus partners.

7. Citibank Platinum - 60,000 bonus points and a free bottle of wine at partner restaurants

If you’re willing to fork out a bit more for your annual fee, then Citibank - with its $249 annual fee - will reward you with a plump 60,000 bonus points when you spend $2,000 on your card within the first 90 days. Plus you’ll also gain access to a range of other perks, which include a complimentary bottle of wine when you dine at partner restaurants and travel accident insurance, extended warranty and purchase protection.
