You’ll earn 1 point per $1 spent and this is supercharged to 2 points for refilling at the bowser and 3 points at major supermarkets. That’s not all! The Platinum Edge Credit Card also comes with free travel insurance - if you’re a regular traveller that one feature alone could outweigh the cost of the $195 annual fee.

3. American Express Essential Credit Card - $50 cash back offer and $0 annual fee

6. ANZ Rewards Platinum - 50,000 bonus points and 6 free insurances

With a low $95 annual fee and 50,000 bonus points up for grabs (when you make an eligible purchase in the first 3 months), the ANZ Rewards Platinum is the perfect option if you’re looking for a low cost platinum card to add to your wallet. You’ll have two payment methods to choose from: AMEX earning you 2 points per $1 spent or Visa with a slightly lower earning power of 1 point per $1 spent. Other platinum features include 6 insurances like travel insurance and purchase protection and the ability to earn bonus points at 30 bonus partners.

7. Citibank Platinum - 60,000 bonus points and a free bottle of wine at partner restaurants

If you’re willing to fork out a bit more for your annual fee, then Citibank - with its $249 annual fee - will reward you with a plump 60,000 bonus points when you spend $2,000 on your card within the first 90 days. Plus you’ll also gain access to a range of other perks, which include a complimentary bottle of wine when you dine at partner restaurants and travel accident insurance, extended warranty and purchase protection.
