Australia’s favourite supermarkets have been revealed in 2019 Mozo People’s Choice Awards
Imagine that Aussie supermarkets were racehorses and the 2019 Mozo People’s Choice Awards were the Melbourne Cup - you can bet that there were some serious frontrunners that stole the show and a few underdogs that earned their way to the top at the end of the day.
In the tenth anniversary of the Mozo People’s Choice Awards, we’ve compiled the best of the best Australian supermarkets and online supermarkets picked by Aussie shoppers.
The award winners were determined by the votes of thousands of real customers, through a survey conducted for Mozo by Ipsos.
“When Aussies compare household services, like supermarkets and online grocery services, recommendations from real customers are invaluable. When we surveyed Australians about their favourite supermarkets and online grocery services, they rated things like product range and value for money but also value the overall customer experience, staff support and how likely they’d be to recommend the service to friends and family,” said Mozo Data Services Director AJ Duncanson.

If you're after value for money and a pleasant shopping experience, then top contender Aldi is definitely the pick for you as they really swept the pool.
But, if you're most wanting to be greeted with friendly faces or just after a great product range, smaller chain IGA and exclusively South Australian supermarket Foodland, both scored a place on this year’s leaderboard.
Australia’s favourite online grocery service
What if you don’t feel like making the trip to the supermarket? No problem, Woolies have got you covered.
Cast your mind back to the Flemington racetrack, if you’re still picturing the other Aussie supermarkets as racehorses, then envision Woolworths as the Winx of online grocery services.
In a pretty impressive feat Woolworths won across all categories under the Online Grocery Service Mozo People’s Choice Awards and was voted as the best online supermarket in terms of freshness, online shopping experience, delivery service, click and collect and more.
Not only that, Woolworths also bagged a win for its range of products in the 2019 Mozo People’s Choice supermarket section.
The Mozo People’s Choice Awards household categories
For this year’s Mozo People’s Choice Awards we announced a range of new household categories, which included supermarkets and online food delivery, but also other services like online movie & TV streaming and NBN plans.
“The Mozo People’s Choice Awards are a fantastic way for customers to make their voice heard about which services and providers they think really transcend the rest. And on the flip side, if you’re thinking of signing up to a new service, it’s a great way to get comprehensive recommendations on which ones existing customers love,” Duncanson said.
Aussies are spending more and more money on services like these every year, so the Mozo People’s Choice Awards household category not only focuses on where you can save, but also rates providers on overall customer satisfaction in areas like customer service and trustworthiness.
