That’s right, three of our favourite Aussie supermarkets (Woolworths, Coles and Aldi) sell phone plans including mobile phone plans with handsets, prepaid mobile plans and family plans with shared data.

We are here to break down the plans available from each of these retailers so you know exactly what to look for.

Woolworths has recently rebranded as Everyday Mobile. It offers SIM only plans, and prepaid plans with both 30 day and longer expiry periods.

Which phones can you get with a Everyday Mobile phone plan?

Woolworths Mobile announced in July of 2023 that it is rebranding as Everyday Mobile come August. As a result, it has stopped selling phones on a plan.

Which network do Woolworths phone plans use?

Telstra 3G and 4G network. You can check the Woolworths coverage map to see if you’re part of the 98.8% of Australians covered by the Telstra network.

Coles offers SIM only plans and does not bundle their plans with a mobile phone contract. 

Coles mobile phone plans don’t come with a lock-in contract, meaning you can change plans at any time for the price of a new plan. You likely won’t be refunded for unused credit or data if you change your plan before it expires.

Which network do Coles mobile phone plans use?

Coles uses the Optus 3G and 4G network, which purportedly covers 98.5% of the Australian population. Coles has a coverage map so you can check if your area has access to the Optus mobile network.

ALDI offers customers a range of mobile phone plan options, including prepaid plans, pay as you go plans, family plans, and data only plans. They do not offer phone plans bundled with a handset.

What is included with an ALDI SIM only mobile phone plan?

ALDI phone plans have no early termination fees, but you will forfeit any remaining credit or data if you leave early. You can also add 3GB of data for $15, 20GB for $30 or 70GB for $60 if you want to top-up your data balance.

Data rollover: rollover your unused data when you recharge on a plan of equal or higher value within 24 hours of plan expiry.
