December 2022 Financial Checklist

December 2022 Financial Checklist

“It’s the most wonderful tiiii-me of the yearrrrrr!”

The silly season has officially begun, folks! And with December typically being one of, if not the most expensive months of the year, your monthly financial checklist couldn’t have come at a better time.

That being said, your December 2022 Financial Checklist awaits:

1. Get more bang for your buck on the Christmas shopping

Missed the boat on doing the Christmas shopping during the Black Friday sales? Not to worry, some stores are still offering extended sales.

Plus, there are plenty of other ways to get some extra bang for your buck on gifts. Here are some of our top tips:

  • Shop around: Compare prices on items and shop around for the best deal before making a purchase.
  • Discount codes: Look for discount codes when shopping online to help reduce the cost of items. The Honey app is a great tool that automatically scans the web for coupon codes before you hit the checkout.
  • Rewards cards: By using a rewards credit card, you can kill two birds with one stone and potentially earn rewards on shopping you’d already be doing.

2. Do Christmas lunch on the cheap

Turkey, ham, prawns – oh my! It’s no secret that buying all the ingredients for your classic Aussie Christmas lunch can cost a fortune. And that’s without factoring in the current sky-high grocery prices.

This is why we’ve done an in-depth price comparison to determine which supermarket is the cheapest for your Christmas feast.

3. Set off on your summer escape safely

If you’ve got a holiday planned this summer, be sure to have all your insurance needs in place before setting off.

If you’re heading off on a road trip, you’ll want to make sure your car insurance policy is all up to date before hitting the road. If going overseas, don’t forget to get your travel insurance in order.

4. Work smarter, not harder, this Sagittarius season

How are our Sag pals doing? With rebellious Uranus tracking alongside conservative Taurus this year, you could find yourself taking more chances when it comes to money, Sagittarius.

That being said, with lots of financial uncertainty in the air, you might want to play it safe and go for more low-risk options if you’re getting into share trading or other investments.

5. Have the ultimate Christmas movie marathon

Looking to get into the Christmas spirit? Here are 5 classic Christmas movies to help you dive into the festive season!

Speaking of which – with the Christmas break coming up, you might be looking for something to watch during your time off. So, here’s what’s new on all the big streaming platforms this December:
