Today the money experts at Mozo have reviewed the costs and features of dozens of share trading platforms to announce the best for Aussie traders, as part of the Mozo Experts Choice Awards for Online Share Trading 2025.

After the rigorous analysis of 73 different online share trading platforms from 31 providers, Mozo research experts found that some platforms offered much lower costs than others, providing an opportunity for traders to save big on brokerage fees.

“The Mozo Experts Choice awards for Online Share Trading offer Aussies a great starting point, as when it comes to choosing the right platform it can be a bit of a minefield,” says Rachel Wastell, Mozo’s money expert.

“There are so many options to choose from, and the cost of each can vary based on exactly what you’re looking to use it for.”

“This is why the Mozo winners list is so helpful. Mozo has pinpointed the lower cost alternatives for a number of different trading personalities, whether you’re new to share trading, sick of high brokerage fees  or considering trying out a new platform.”

Identifying the winning brands

Every trader is different, which is why the Mozo Experts Choice Awards judging process took different trading personas into account when conducting the extensive analysis.

“When determining the winners of each category our research team applied different criteria to find the platforms that offer the best value and features to their target traders,” explains Wastell.

For the Casual ASX, US, and, ETF Trader awards we considered platforms that traded those shares to find which providers and platforms offered the lowest cost options for smaller trades.

For the Regular Trader award, our team looked at larger trades up to $55,000 to recognise the platforms offering the lowest costs, as well as those that included key features including live price data and independent broker reports.

The winners of the Active Trader award were highlighted for offering competitive fees on much larger trade volumes including those up to $100,000, and features such as, live dynamic data, SMS Alerts and, access to international share markets were considered.

Moomoo named Australia’s Best Online Share Trading platform in 2025

After the analysis, Mozo experts found that Moomoo was in the top spot, taking out the honour of being named  Australia’s Best Online Share Trading platform of 2025.

Traders could save 77% on average on their brokerage fees with Moomoo when trading ASX shares when compared to platforms who didn’t win a Mozo Experts Choice Award.

“With its low brokerage fees on trading across ASX shares, ETFs, and US stocks, Moomoo is well worthy of consideration by Australian traders. Moomoo took home four category wins, earning them this year’s top award,” says Wastell.

CMC Invest wins Highly Commended Online Share Trading platform

CMC Invest is also worthy of recognition in this year’s awards, taking out the title of the Highly Commended Online Share Trading award.

Active Traders could save 50% on average on their brokerage fees with CMC Invest when compared to brands who didn’t win a Mozo Expert Choice Award.

“CMC Invest was the only provider to win in both the Online Share Trading Regular and Active trader categories, which highlights just how well it caters to traders looking to trade big and small,” says Wastell.
