Mozo’s People’s Choice Awards reveal what Aussies really think about their banks
The Mozo office is buzzing with the news: we’ve just announced the winners of our 2018 People’s Choice Awards.
If you didn’t know, these awards are a little different than our Experts Choice Awards, because the winners are picked by everyday Aussies.
In May 2018, a total of 3,693 Aussies were asked to rate up to two banking providers and up to one of the other categories on a number of factors, like customer service, staff friendliness and trustworthiness.
In total, we received 5,166 ratings of banking providers, 3,076 of car insurance providers, 2,790 of home insurance providers and 3,321 of electricity providers.
“The People’s Choice Awards really give us an insight into how Aussies feel about their providers,” said Mozo Product Data Manager, Peter Marshall.
“What we found is that Aussies are more comfortable to go with smaller banks, insurance providers and energy retailers, which goes to show that these providers are really taking the time to understand the needs of their customers, and that customers are noticing the difference."

Awards were given to the top tier of providers based on their average rating. In banking, the top five providers were awarded, with an additional award given to the Big Bank with the highest rating.
Only the top three energy retailers and insurance providers received awards in each category, but because many insurance providers only operate in specific states or have niche markets, we also awarded a highly-rated insurance provider who had a broad market coverage.

Banking
