American Express credit card offer could fly you return to Los Angeles with Qantas
Frequent flyer points lovers rejoice, because American Express has almost doubled its bonus Qantas Points offer on the Qantas Ultimate Card as part of a suite of credit card changes unveiled today.
New cardholders who apply online before April 9 and spend over $3,000 on the American Express card within the first three months will now receive an impressive 100,000 Qantas Points - enough for a return economy flight to Los Angeles (with 10,000 points to spare!).
The new deal almost doubles the previous 55,000 Qantas Points on offer, but it does require double the outlay - the former minimum spend criteria being $1,500 over the same three month period.

Qantas fans looking to take advantage of the new deal on the Qantas American Express Ultimate Card should note that the card does come with a hefty $450 annual card fee, though this can be effectively offset by the $450 in Qantas travel credit you’ll receive as a cardholder each year.
While the points boost currently makes the new Qantas Ultimate points deal the equal best bonus points offer in the Mozo database (on par with the NAB Qantas Rewards Signature Card), Mozo Director Kirsty Lamont encouraged prospective applicants of any new credit card to compare all the features before signing up.
“Bonus points deals can be an alluring and rewarding feature for cardholders who are comfortable meeting the minimum spending requirements on a card, but it’s always important to weigh them up against other features such as the purchase rate or annual card fee,” she said.

As part of the other changes to its rewards card lineup, American Express also doubled the Membership Rewards Bonus Points on offer through the Explorer Credit Card from 50,000 to 100,000. Conversely, the bonus point offer on the American Express Velocity Platinum Card was halved from 100,000 to 50,000 bonus Velocity Points.
