Click Frenzy: online shoppers set to “go nuts” tonight in 24hr sale

Thousands of bargainhunters are expected to take advantage of Click Frenzy’s “Go Nuts” sale tonight, which offers discounts from over 200 retailers of up to 99% off.

The “Click Frenzy Mayhem” sale kicks off at 7pm and will give 700,000 email subscribers access to an online treasure hunt where they could potentially nab a PlayStation 4 for $4.

Some of the big names participating in the online sale are fashion chain Portmans, tech giant Sony and even Coles Supermarkets.

While the biggest deals such as the “Go Nuts” promotion won’t go live until tonight, some retail chains have already started their sales. For instance, customers who shop with any brands across the Cotton On Group can nab 30% off everything online for two days (bricks and mortar stores excluded).

Credit and debit cardholders who are fans of Afterpay, may be pleased to discover some sites offering the take-home layby feature, are also Click Frenzy Mayhem affiliates such as Peter Alexander (which is having a “Pajama Mayhem” sale).

The Click Frenzy event coincides with the news of an Australia Post collaboration, a move that both parties hope will encourage more Aussies to shop at local online stores.

“Australia Post and Click Frenzy have a shared goal of improving the online retail experience across Australia, and this initial partnership aims to deliver a multitude of benefits. We’re excited and really looking forward to what this partnership can deliver,” said Peter Krideras, Business Development Director at Click Frenzy.

Smart shopping tips:

  • Choose the card you make purchases with carefully. For instance, if you have a rewards card don’t miss the opportunity to accrue points or reach the spend amount needed to access a bonus points offer.
  • Use brand loyalty cards where you can. This may even give you an additional discount at the online checkout or unlock membership perks that you can redeem later.
  • Be a delivery cost snob. With the sheer number of retailers offering free shipping these days, it’s best to think twice before coughing up coin for delivery charges.
  • Know the change of mind policy. It’s easy to get carried away in the middle of a big sale and wind up with items you don’t need, so always check the returns policy before you checkout your order.
