Feast your eyes on Amex’s new Essential Credit Card offer

A 2018 Mozo Experts Choice Award winner, with no annual fee and a low 14.99% purchase rate, you might think the American Express Essential Credit Card couldn’t get any better.

Actually it can.

From tomorrow, Amex are giving new cardholders the chance to receive a $50 Dining Credit if they spend $50 or more in one or more transaction using Deliveroo or with the Rockpool Dining Group in the first month.

“For Aussies that are fans of the participating restaurants this could be their dream plastic perk,” said Mozo Director, Kirsty Lamont.

“And with a great rewards program and two Mozo Experts Choice Award wins under its belt, it’s not hard to see why the American Express Essential Credit Card makes for a top pick.”

But while the idea of gift cards, cash back and airport lounge access could sound tempting, many Aussies may still question the true value of owning a rewards credit card.

According to the Mozo database, the average return for a rewards credit card on a $20,000 yearly spend is $50.

However, the American Express Essential Credit Card had a return value of a $196.

“Finding a rewards card that not only delivers on features but actually offers a decent return can be tricky, but the Amex Essentials Credit Card offers do just that,” said Lamont.

“And the fact that there’s no annual fee makes it easy on the wallet too.”

So if you’d like to take advantage of the new American Express Essential Credit Card offer, be quick, because this offer is only available till 31 March, 2019.
