The best of both worlds: Citi and Paypal announce long-term partnership to develop credit products
For a lot of Aussies, Paypal is a lifesaver when it comes to shopping internationally, thanks to its security and simple, but smart technology.
And pretty soon, customers may be able to shop up a storm with their very own Paypal credit card.
Today the online payments platform has announced a long-term partnership with Citi to develop consumer credit products for Paypal customers.
“We're excited to continue the expansion of Citi’s global partnership with PayPal into the Australian market, and to bring two leaders in payments together to drive better outcomes for consumers,” said Citi Australia’s Head of Cards and Loans, Choong Yu Lum.
“Citi has made tremendous strides in seamless integration and the brands we work with are able to benefit from our ability to offer consumer financial solutions that provide scale and strength.”
It’s hoped that the partnership will bring the best of both worlds: Citi’s financial expertise and Paypal’s technology, as well as its large customer base.
“Citi shares our vision to make payments simple, safe and convenient, and we’re confident they’re the right partner to help us deliver innovative consumer-facing credit products to our customers in the Australian market,” said General Manager of PayPal Credit, Andrew Baines.
And while this partnership is still in its early stages, Aussie’s can still get a jump on finding the right credit card for their spending needs by heading over to our credit card comparison tool or by checking out some current offers below.
