World2Cover named Travel Insurer of the Year in 2018 Mozo Experts Choice Awards
The Mozo’s 2018 Experts Choice Travel Insurance Awards winners are in, with World2Cover Travel Insurance coming out on top by taking out wins across all awards categories.
The awards highlight some of the best travel insurance policies available to Australians, with factors including medical, luggage cover and cancellation cover taken into consideration by the Mozo experts.
The experts analysed 271 products from 71 insurance providers to find the best policies offering globetrotting Aussies exceptional value and high quality cover.
World2Cover have a winning product in every one of the Mozo Experts Choice Award categories this year, including their cheap and cheerful Basics policy, the mid-range Essentials product and the comprehensive Top policy.
Both the Essential and Top policies took out both Exceptional Quality and Exceptional Value awards, and World2Cover’s Annual Multi-trip policy was the only annual travel insurance policy to take win in both Exceptional Quality and Exceptional Value categories.
“World2Cover has earned itself awards across the board - we’re seeing both value for money and quality cover on offer from its basics policy to its comprehensive, top of the line option,” said Mozo Data Manager, Peter Marshall.

The Mozo 2018 Experts Choice Awards breakdown travel insurance policies into two main categories: Exceptional Value and Exceptional Quality.
Winners in the Exceptional Value category offered must-have cover and features, at the most affordable prices.
“We consider every provider in our database to find consumers the best value deal,” said Marshall. “Value is what most consumers want. Making their money go as far as it can is really important to them.”
Top winners in the Exceptional Value category included Southern Cross Travel Insurance and Budget Direct, scoring 3 and 2 awards respectively.

The Exceptional Quality category is designed to help travellers who aren’t as concerned about the cost of their policy, but want the peace of mind that comes from a travel insurance policy that covers all their bases.
“With our Exceptional Quality awards, what we’re looking to do is point consumers to the best travel insurance policy with the best available extras,” said Marshall.
Cover-More Travel Insurance, Qantas and Travel insurance Saver were standouts in the exceptional quality awards, earning 2 awards apiece.
As well as commending providers of exceptional value and quality basic and comprehensive travel insurance, Mozo experts also handed out awards for more targeted categories such as annual, cruise and ski travel insurance.
“The whole point of the Mozo Experts Choice awards is to help Australian travellers find the right policy for their needs, no matter what kind of holiday they’re heading off on,” said Marshall.
“Someone going on a ski trip will need different options to someone going on a cruise - it only makes sense that we include a range of popular categories to cover all bases.”
Mozo recently reported on Roy Morgan data that revealed approximately 2.3 million Aussies are intending to head overseas within the next year, meaning Australian’s now more than ever need to be comparing travel insurance policies.
“When it comes to travel insurance, it pays to be proactive. There’s a lot that can go wrong on holiday and you don’t want to be stuck paying exorbitant fees,” said Marshall.
