Comprehensive Extras Car Insurance |
If you’re after a car insurance policy that combines an extensive level of cover with a comfortable level of affordability, then Suncorp's range of policies are a great place to start. The Comprehensive Extras option provides added value on top of the standard cover, and is definitely worth looking into. This policy will have your car covered across a range of potential road-related incidents and has the added benefit of Suncorp’s multi-policy, online, family and safe driver discounts to make it that little bit more attractive.
With Suncorp Comprehensive Extras Car Insurance more than just your physical vehicle is covered. For example, if you own a trailer you will be covered up to the value of $1,000 and you’ll also get an additional $1,000 worth of cover for any personal property that may be stolen or damaged in an accident.
This policy also comes packed with features that give you an element of control over your car insurance. Suncorp affords you the freedom to choose who repairs your car and will come to an agreed value with you over the worth of your car, so you’ll know exactly what your payout will be if your pride and joy is written off or stolen.
In saying that, there are a few additional extras that aren’t included in this policy. For example, if you really value roadside assistance or windscreen cover, you’ll need to opt for these as extras when taking out Suncorp Comprehensive Extras Car Insurance. While Suncorp will cover the costs of a rental for 21 days if your car is stolen or after a not-at-fault incident, you’ll need to opt-in if you want rental costs covered following an accident where you are at fault. And if you’re keen on paying your premiums monthly, this will also cost you a few extra dollars.
Despite providing a comprehensive level of cover, Suncorp’s Comprehensive Extras Car Insurance doesn’t need to break the bank. Right off the bat, you’ll be able to earn a $50 discount for buying this policy online. Further than this, you’ll be able to earn a 15% discount if you hold three or more insurance policies with Suncorp.
Young drivers could also earn a 10% family discount if their parents have a comprehensive car insurance policy with Suncorp. And if you're a consistently safe driver, you can slash up to another 15% off when you don't make any insurance claims.
If you don't drive often (less than 10,000km a year) and you're after even more savings, you might consider the low kilometre policy which rewards you with a lower premium for driving less.
This is a car insurance policy that works for the whole family, offering attractive multi-policy and young driver discounts.
Be aware that if a driver under the age of 25 has an accident in your car and isn’t listed on your policy, you could have to stump up the sizeable $1,400 unlisted young driver excess.

My car was written off, which was only 2 years old and the value of the car was nowhere near the value to replace. After 2 months or arguing back and forth, I got nowhere and was left out of pocket by $8,000 for a Kia Stonic, which is not an expensive car. Then they decided to also take my 12-month registration and 12-month insurance, that I had only paid a month before upfront. Other insurance companies give you a refund on the insurance that you haven't used in those 12 months and none of them touch your registration. Then to get my excess of $1600 back, after I was told that I needed to pay to get the claim started and would be refunded once they resolved that the accident wasn’t my fault, was like pulling teeth and took another 2 months to be refunded, so they are just MONEY GRABBERS! Then they sold my written off car at the Auctions, with my personal details left in the Logbooks. I had the new owner harassing me with constant phone calls and this is so wrong on so many levels! I’m absolutely furious with Suncorp and will never use them again in my lifetime.

Suncorp was recommended to me by financier. I like the fact that it's monthly cost is very reasonable. What i don't like is the fact, i haven't had any contact since signing up. So, i would say communication isn't the best.

We bought a 2000 VW transporter t 4. Camper. The seller told us we could insure it with Suncorp for $30,000. When I rang up the operator told me I couldn’t that it was worth $4180. Although it had been made over to a camper van was not able to be insured for the higher amount.

I have been with a few insurance companies over the years when I have bought other cars etc. I have found when I have called Suncorp nothing has been a problem for them, when I have asked questions they have answered me & explained until I understood, I have never had to put in a claim but have been informed about excesses etc.
