How to earn points with an ANZ rewards card

That’s easy, spend! All you need to do to start building your points stash is use your card at the checkout. One thing to keep in mind is that the number of points you’ll earn depends on the card you choose - but remember to weigh up the value of rewards points against the annual fee on each card.

There are also often bonus point offers available, and cardholders will also be able to score extra bonus points at over 30 bonus partners, these are retailers and brands that provide bonus points when you make a purchase. Redeeming your ANZ Rewards points

When you’re ready to cash in your points stash, you’ll need to log in to your ANZ Rewards account. Here you’ll be able to see your points balance and browse the options for redeeming your points. 

Once you’ve found the product you’d like, click ‘redeem now’ to start the request process - when you’re approved, you should receive your item within 28 days. Or if you’re planning on using your points to fly, you can transfer your points to the Velocity, Air New Zealand or KrisFlyer program. 

Got your eye on a particular item? With the ANZ Rewards Auto-redemption program, you’ll be able to pre-select a reward to be instantly delivered once you hit the number points needed. That means you won’t have to worry about counting points or remembering to redeem points before they expire.

Do ANZ Rewards points expire?

Yes, you must claim a reward within 36 months of 31 December of the year your points were added to your account, otherwise you’ll lose them. You can avoid this by setting up auto redemption on your account, this is where you’ll automatically redeem a reward once you hit the number of points required.


Are ANZ Rewards Points capped?

No, there is no points cap on ANZ Rewards cards. However just keep in mind that you points earn rate will drop after you reach a certain spend per month, so it might be worth spacing out your spending to avoid hitting this earlier in the month.

What purchases won't earn me points?

While you will be able to earn points on the majority of your everyday purchases, you will not earn any points on BPAY, gambling, cash advances or balance transfers, traveller cheques or premiums paid for ANZ Credit Card Insurance.

Is there a fee to have an ANZ Rewards account?
