**Saving based on the average difference in fees and charges over 3 years between the most competitive product Mozo can refer a consumer to and the average credit card product input by 6,863 consumers (average balance of $4,262 or balance transfer balance of $5,818, interest rate of 19.6% and annual fee of $36.50) who used the Mozo Credit Card Health Check tool between 1 January 2012 to July 2012.

Judging Criteria

Every day Mozo keeps track of thousands of products in banking, energy and insurance.

The Mozo Experts Choice Awards recognise products that deliver exceptional value or benefits to consumers. Credit card providers don’t pay to be in the running and we don’t play favourites. Our Judges base their decision on hard-nosed calculations of value to the consumer, using Mozo’s extensive product database and research capacity.

Experts Choice Awards are awarded to the top 10% of products that meet the selection criteria in each awards category.

FAQ

How many credit cards did you compare for the awards?

Mozo analysed 190 personal credit card products from 65 providers for the Mozo Experts Choice Credit Card Awards.

How do I choose the best card for me?

We all have different financial needs and spending habits. When looking for a credit card you’ll need to carefully think about your ability to repay any balance, the card benefits that you’ll use most or get the best value from.

For instance, if you carry a balance on your credit card, low rate cards are generally better value. If you pay off your balance in full each month a no annual fee or rewards card could be best for you.

Some people only prefer to bank with a Big 4 bank so we also highlight the credit cards available from these banks that deliver best value.

Mozo also has a range of helpful credit card guides that can help you to learn more about the different features and types of credit cards available. To see the latest credit card deals you can visit our credit cards hub.

How did you select winners for the balance transfer award?

To avoid awarding credit cards with short term tactical offers, we excluded any cards that did not have a balance transfer offer in the market for at least three months at the time of conducting our analysis.

Who are Mozo’s product experts?

Mozo has been researching and comparing financial products since 2008, and thousands of Australians use our comparison services each month. Our research team is headed by our Data Services Director and our Product Data Manager who have over 50 years of financial services experience and 22 years in online financial comparison.

Where can I get more information about the awards criteria?

Our awards methodology report is available for you to read, which includes information on the criteria for each award category.

I work for a financial provider, how do we promote our award win?

Please get in touch with us to discuss by emailing [salesteam@mozo.com.au] or phoning our advertising sales team on 02 9037 4368.
