Q1. What is included under World2Cover Travel Insurance cover?

Jumping right in, here’s a list of the coverage you could expect across all of the policies:
Emergency hospital expense:

On top of these, the Essentials and Top packages also provide coverage for:

Q2. Are pre-existing medical conditions covered under World2Cover Travel Insurance?

World2Cover has a list of pre-existing medical conditions which it covers automatically. These include things like: bunions, cataracts, gout, and diabetes. Although, many of these conditions come with specific requirements you need to meet before you get covered, such as not having been hospitilised for the condition in the past 12 months before you trip.

Make sure you read your PDS carefully if you’re travelling with a pre-existing condition.

Q3. What if I have a medical condition that is not automatically covered under World2Cover Travel Insurance?

If you have a condition you need coverage for that is not on the list of pre-existing conditions there’s no need to fear; you may still be able to be covered. You’ll just need to complete a medical assessment which will determine if you can be insured and how much extra your premium for coverage will be.

Q4. What sporting activities will be covered?

If you’re an active, get out of the house and get the body moving kind of person, then you’ll want to make sure you have coverage when doing sport while travelling. While each activity has its own rules and many circumstances are reviewed individually here are activities which you can be covered for:

Make sure to always read the fine print for any activities you’re going to be taking part in, so you know if there are certain conditions that would make your claim unsuccessful, for example, if you were skiing off-piste.

Q5. What do I do if there is an emergency during my trip?

If there’s an emergency on your trip it’s best to immediately contact World2Cover’s 24/7 phone line where they will provide you with the assistance available depending on your policy.

Q6. Is it possible to cancel my World2Cover Travel Insurance policy?

If you decide World2Cover travel insurance is not for you after all, there are two avenues for cancelling. The first is the easiest; you can cancel your policy and receive a full refund if you do so at least 14 days before your trips starts. However, if it is less than 14 days before your trip, but you have not left yet, you will need to pay a 10% cancellation fee.

Exclusions to look out for in World2Cover Travel Insurance

While World2Cover policies provide coverage across a range of areas, there are a few circumstances where your policy will not pay out. For example:

How to make a successful claim with World2Cover Travel Insurance

To kick start any claim you’ll want to call or email World2Cover’s claims department within 30 days of returning from your trip. When you start the process, you’ll want to make sure you have the requisite information, which will depend on the type of claim your making. It might include:

Medical and dental: all original medical and dental records, certificates and reports.
Stolen luggage and personal effects: you must immediately report it to the police, then get a written report of the incident.
Damaged or misplaced luggage and personal effects: you need to report the incident within 24 hours of you becoming aware of the loss or damage, then acquire a written report from the relevant authority - for example an airline, cruise company or hotel.
