Mozo snapshot:

The Bankwest Zero Platinum Credit Card took out a Mozo Experts Choice Award 2017 for best value travel credit card and also got a nod from our experts for its platinum offering. What makes it a top travel credit card for your wallet? No annual fee, up to 55 interest free days and no foreign exchange margin on international purchases. Plus for no extra cost you'll get top premium benefits like complimentary travel insurance, concierge and insurances.

Key features:

The Bankwest Zero Platinum Credit Card has a standard purchase rate of 17.99% but comes with up to 55 interest free days. It has no annual fee which really sets it apart from many other platinum cards in the market and it's a great card to take travelling or use when shopping online as there is no foreign exchange fee.

If you have debt on another card you want to transfer over there is a 2.99% balance transfer offer for 9 months, after which any remaining balance will revert to the standard 17.99% purchase rate.

The platinum perks of the Zero Platinum card include complimentary travel insurance for you and the family, when you purchase return tickets using your card. There are some policy limits so be sure to check out the policy details before travelling but it includes unlimited medical and is valid for trips up to 6 months long.

The card also has extended warranty, purchase security and price protection insurance, which means that if you find a cheaper printed purchase price within 21 days you can claim the difference (minimum of $75).

And with a complimentary concierge service, if you find yourself in need of a restaurant, last minute gift, dentist or get away, you can give your personal assistant a call anytime of the day or night to help.

Who it's good for:

This is a great card for fee haters and for shoppers that will get the most out of the free insurance coverage offered with the card.

Any catches?

Be sure to automate your payments or you'll be up for a $25 late payment fee.

I got this credit card because it has no annual fee and no transaction fees for international purchases, so it's excellent value especially if you do lots of travelling or shopping online from overseas sites. The application process was pretty smooth and Bankwest have been easy to deal with. I don't pay interest on my credit card so don't need to worry about the rate, but I think it is pretty high. I'd say this is a good card for those who are good at managing their credit card spending and paying it off on time, and don't want to be hit with annoying fees.
