Your home and its contents will be covered against a range of events, including fires, storms and theft as well as veterinary expenses (up to $500), lock replacement (up to $1,000) and legal liability (up to $20 million). You can also add flood cover, accidental damage cover and insurance for potable contents onto your policy as an optional extra (just remember this comes with an increase to your premium).

With this policy, items such as jewellery, antiques, trade tools and cameras are all covered – just be sure to read through your PDS to find out exactly how much you’ll be insured for.
Don’t forget, there are also a number of discounts available with this policy, including a 10% discount on your first yearly premium for applying online and a no claims discount up to 30%.
One thing you’ll need to keep in mind is that there is no cover for boats, trailers and other vehicles on your property, lawns, pebbled paths or building under construction. And if you’re planning to move house anytime soon, there won’t be cover for your contents while you're in transit moving. You can take out the specific moving house cover, but that only covers items when they're inside your new or old home.

Allianz is reliable and has helped us out with broken windows etc. I would recommend them. We have been with other companies in the past and we think overall Allianz is better.

We have had Allianz insurance for many years and for the claims we have made they have been very efficient, friendly and quick in their responce in the completion of our claims. we have no complaints at all they are Great.

My house was badly damaged in the 2020 Canberra Hail Event. I was straight on the phone and a loss adjuster visited shortly afterwards. Allianz representative's handled my home hail claim really well, reimbursing me for the damaged items I had replaced quickly and authorising repairs to the roof straight away. They took a lot of stress away. Thanks Allianz!

I would never recommend this company. I had held insurance with this company for fourteen years with one minor claim previously. From the moment you make a claim they are searching for reasons not to pay it. They make things difficult. They require endless documentation that I’ve never come across any other insurance company has requested. Even when you supply everything they have requested, they then look at other reasons why the shouldn’t pay. Things that are covered in the PDF they refused to cover. I found the constant arrogant customer service beyond belief. This situation is currently With the financial services ombudsman. The policy is not value for money if they refuse to payout claims when the need arises.
