You’ll get 55 days to pay off purchases before being hit with interest on your Bank Australia credit card, unless you opt for the low rate option, which unfortunately doesn’t come with any interest free period. Making the most of your interest free period is one of the best ways to keep credit card costs down, so think carefully before you go for an option with no interest free days.
If you opt for the no fee option from Bank Australia you can skip the annual credit card fee, but the same can’t be said for the other options, which each pack an annual fee, though the rewards option is definitely the heftier of the two. Other costs to keep in mind include currency conversion and cash advance fees, which are higher for platinum cardholders.
No, unfortunately, Bank Australia don’t offer balance transfers with their credit cards.

Because Bank Australia credit cards work on the VISA network, you’ll be able to pay for purchases under $100 by tapping your card with the payWave system.
Yep! This is where VISA comes in handy again. Wherever VISA is accepted, you can use your Bank Australia credit card - and that’s pretty much everywhere.
The Bank Australia rewards credit card is linked directly to the Qantas frequent flyer program, which means all your rewards points are automatically converted into frequent flyer points. They aren’t capped and never expire, so none of your spending will go to waste.
The card offers a pretty good return for your money - for every $1 you spend you get 1 Qantas point, and if you spend it on Qantas products, that jumps up to 2 points per $1.
Credit card fraud is something all credit card users should be aware of. There are some general rules about the way Bank Australia operates to help you identify things that might pose a security risk. Check them out in the table below:
Bank Australia will... | Bank Australia will not... |
---|---|
Monitor your account for unusual activity. | Send you emails asking for your personal or banking details. |
Contact you about any unusual transactions by phone, email, post or SMS. | Ask you for personal banking details, such as PIN numbers, over the phone, by SMS or email. |
Restrict access to your account if unusual activity is detected and you can’t be contacted to verify it. | Ask for information on your credit card - like your card number. |
Allow you to verify your account over the phone. | Ask you to log into or verify your account via email. Do not click any links in emails like this as it’s probably a scam! |
Cold call you (contact you without you contacting them) and request remote access to your credit card account. |

The Qantas Money card is great if you want to maximise Frequent Flier points, however the app and website aren't very feature rich, with frequent downtimes. If you can look past that and utilise the bonus points effectively, you can amass a significant amount of points each year.
