Bank Australia is a customer owned bank. Formerly bankmecu, Bank Australia has over 130,000 customers which act as shareholders of the bank. It offers a full range of products including home loans, savings, credit cards and loan products, and because its shareholders are its customers, they benefit from lower rate and fees. Bank Australia also invests up to 4% of its profits in various community projects every year.

They're a small and impressive bank. The kind of bank you're proud to be a member of, and when you see another person whip out their Bank Australia card, you know they care about environmental and social issues. Bank Australia doesn't have many branches, which is the only negative. That said, I've needed a branch only once in the last 5 years. I can use most other banks ATM's without charge. Their fraud department is excellent. Maybe overly cautious, but I'd rather that than my account get emptied without me! On multiple occasions they've contacted me and stopped fraudulent transactions. Overall I've been really impressed with their service.
I like that it is sustainable and the app is easy to use but I dont like that other banks beat it on interest
Bank Australia is the peoples bank. It cares about its customers and isn't money hungry like the big 4. Would recommend!
I like that the bank has ethics as its central value, thus making investments that are ethically sound and supporting progressive social values. The are helpful and knowledgeable, and their products are as good as or better than any from the "Big Four". I also like that, being a conglomeration of credit unions, it is owned by the members.
Bank Australia has always been fair and equitable, like all you have to fight for your $ but they are responsive to feedback. My only concern is them moving from Awake to Woke.

Products are good but wish they would just concentrate on banking. Too many other issues that have nothing to do with banking.
Mostly restricted to phone or internet banking. Call centre usually answers promptly and resolves any issues. Interest rates are competitive but they may have gone a little early in phasing out personal and bank cheques
They vow never to invest in fossil fuels.
