Credit Union SA personal loan overview

Fixed rate car loan:

Are you after a car loan, and want the consistency that comes with having a fixed interest rate? Then check out Credit Union SA’s fixed rate car loan options, with loan amounts ranging from $5k to $100k. Loan terms vary between one and seven years, and the vehicle you secure to the loan can be up to seven years old. Credit Union SA won’t penalise you for repaying the loan before the total amount is due, and extra repayments are fee-free. You’ll also have access to those additional repayments via a free redraw facility. While there are zero monthly fees, keep in mind an initial sign up cost applies when you take out the loan.

Secured personal loan:

If you need a personal loan and have an asset, you can tie it to this Credit Union SA loan as collateral in return for a competitive fixed rate. Just like the Credit Union SA car loan there are several interest rate tiers dependant on the loan amount. Flexible features as the product mentioned above still apply including no early loan repayment penalty costs, and a free redraw facility to dip into any extra repayments you’ve made. A similar sign up fee is involved, but there are no monthly administration costs to consider.

Credit Union SA’s Online-only Special Fixed Rate Personal Loan won both a Best Secured Personal Loan and Best Used Car Loan award for the 2023 Mozo Experts Choice Awards.

Unsecured personal loan:

The Credit Union SA unsecured personal loan is suitable for those wanting a personal loan to finance a dream, but who don’t have an asset to offer as security. Because the interest rate is variable, it can change at any point during the loan term. Benefits of this loan include a free redraw facility, no early loan repayment costs, and zero ongoing fees. You’ll need to pay a one-off fee when you first sign on.

Simple, easy and convenient

I spoke to Credit Union SA about organising a Personal Loan, they discussed my options, and recommended an option which drew on the available equity in my home, to give me the lowest rate possible (5.72% variable), I paid a very low and reasonable set-up fee, then have a set minimum repayment, but can pay more whenever I feel like it, and no penalties for early repayment.
