Bank Australia is a customer owned bank. Formerly bankmecu, Bank Australia has over 130,000 customers which act as shareholders of the bank. It offers a full range of products including home loans, savings, credit cards and loan products, and because its shareholders are its customers, they benefit from lower rates and fees.
In 2023, Bank Australia took out four Mozo People’s Choice Awards in the Outstanding Customer Satisfaction, Excellent Customer Service, Highly Trusted and Most Recommended categories. The bank also invests up to 4% of its profits in various community projects every year.
The Bank’s services and products are good and interest rates are competitive.
I like that they have good rates and no account fees. I hate the app ot feels dos organised hard to find things just a bad layout. Since the branches have closed down it sucks and there's barely any ATMs to get money out for free
Signed up for a term deposit with BA due to their competitive rates. The account works fine as it is an uncomplicated product, however getting it set up was quite a large headache. After setting up online access, I had continual issues trying to transfer money into the account, with little useful information provided by the website/online portal. Calling customer support was helpful - no issues at all with their service, but this was quite frustrating as it was the result of a fundamental part of their service being unusable and unintuitive from the outset. I had no further issues after that point, however - but that is hardly surprising for an account that is intended to be left alone anyway.
I’ve been with you for a long time I’ve just got me and my son a house and I need a small bin to put furniture
Overall great bank, friendly service, really understanding of situations
I like that the bank has ethics as its central value, thus making investments that are ethically sound and supporting progressive social values. The are helpful and knowledgeable, and their products are as good as or better than any from the "Big Four". I also like that, being a conglomeration of credit unions, it is owned by the members.
