Comprehensive Plus Car Insurance
Comprehensive Car Insurance
2020 Mozo Experts Choice Award winner NRMA offers safe and loyal drivers the chance to save big on its Comprehensive Plus Car Insurance with a generous no claims bonus as well as a loyalty discount, depending on the number of policies and the number of years you’ve remained with the insurance provider.
The NRMA Comprehensive Plus Car Insurance even goes the extra mile to make sure you’re covered. It insures any drivers who get behind the wheel of your car and will even replace your new car with a brand new set of wheels if it is stolen or written off within two years of the purchase date.
NRMA’s top level of car insurance goes above and beyond to give you the peace of mind that no matter what happens to your vehicle, you’ll be covered. NRMA Comprehensive Plus Car Insurance comes with excess-free glass cover so you can take care of any inconvenient chips in your windscreen or any cracks in your sunroof with minimal fuss and without having to pay anything out of your own pocket.
This policy also covers any modifications or aftermarket accessories that you may have added to your car at an agreed value and will even cover any tools of trade that may be damaged or stolen up to the value of $1,500. Just remember some inclusions and coverage levels may differ between the 'Plus' option and standard NRMA Comprehensive Car Insurance, so be sure to check your PDS for details.
Comprehensive Plus Car Insurance might be a premium level of cover, but NRMA rewards its customers with some serious discounts to make the premium more affordable. Depending on how many policies you have with the NRMA and the amount of years you’ve been a customer for, your loyalty discount could rise as high as 25%. NRMA also offers customers the opportunity to save as much as 65% on their premiums through one of the more generous no claims bonuses on the market, but this might take a few years to build up.
If you’re already an NRMA customer, it might be in your best interests to look at taking out NRMA Comprehensive Plus Car Insurance and reaping the financial rewards that come with the loyalty discount. It is also worth noting this policy is only available in New South Wales, Queensland, Tasmania and the ACT.
While NRMA has scrapped the usual unnamed driver excess that many car insurance companies include, you could still be stung with a pretty hefty young driver excess that could climb as high as $1,600 if someone under the age of 25 is in an at-fault accident in your car. Lastly, if you want to make monthly premium payments, you’ll be paying a higher premium than you would if you were to pay annually.

NRMA has insured my vehicles for more than three decades. I always feel they treat me with fairness, respect and understanding. The rates do increase each year but is always manageable. The product meets all my needs. The insurer has huge financial resources and has developed a HELP DNA that permeates its staff and systems.

I like them because of the cover available and the competitive cost of that cover. Unlike other companies I have been with when renewal time comes around you do not face huge increases in premium, particularly when you have had no claims. Many companies appear to base their premiums on postcode rather than your history. These same companies appear to offer you a competitive premium in the first year, almost like a trap to get your business, but then in the next year increase your premium by 10-30%, although you have not had a claim and of course your vehicle is one year older, so worth less, and inflation is around 1%. I've had occasion to question a past insurer about the rise in premium asked and immediately been offered a $50 discount on the proposed premium. And this offer from the girl answering the phone with no reference to a more senior person. That's when I changed to NRMA, it was like a breath of fresh air. I've never had a claim with NRMA so I cannot speak on their performance in this area.

Pros: All the options one could think of regarding their car insurance is covered under NRMA insurance. Moreover, the optional extras, especially the one where they cover to hire a car for free after an incident provides that support and sigh of relief which one is looking for at that very point in time. I have been with NRMA since 2016, and not once have I thought of going with any other insurance. I think this says it all about my satisfaction level with NRMA. Cons: Can't think of any at the moment, but if I am able to find one in the future, I am sure they will do everything they can to resolve that, as they offer awesome customer service, as all their agents understand their customer's perspective as per the situation appropriately.

Their customer service is really great and are so easy to talk to. I think that’s definitely very important to me. All my family is with them and have been for years so they are very well respected in my community. Only con is that it is expensive.

The ladies at my branch provide very good service. They let you check options to consider e.g excess for policy.
