ME is a low cost bank without excessive fees. Customer service is located in Australia, but they often have problems with their website and app.
Easy online banking
Members Equity (ME) have great products. You get a discount on your home loan if you are a member of certain superannuation companies. You also get bonus interest on a savings account if you do 4 on-line transactions per month on your everyday account. It's a win-win for everyone.
I don't need to go into a branch unless I have a cheque so having a fee free, online account that lets me use any ATM then refunds the cost to do so is perfect. The online accounts are easy to navigate, I can name my accounts anything I like, use different icons to easily identify what account is what. I seem to be able to create multiple savings accounts from my one transaction account which helps me to save my money for different things very easily. Customer Service is great, although a little delayed as getting through to them by phone is hard, so it needs to be via a secure online channel. They always reply though and have helped with the very few queries I have.

Because my account was locked whilst they verified my identity, I’ve had to ring 3 X in one week and was on hold FOR OVER AN HOUR EVERYTIME. The locked my account on Sunday, same day I sent through and completed all verification requirements. It’s now Thursday and they still haven’t looked into my account yet. I was told up to 3 business days. I have had to cancel doctors appt because I can’t access my own money. I will be ceasing my business with this low rate bank
