  • $0 account fees

  • Mozo Expert Choice Award winner 2018

  • No branch access

Mozo snapshot:

When a bank is voted as having Australia's best bank accounts 3 years in a row in the Mozo People's Choice Awards, it's worth noting. To add onto this, they are also the winner of a 2018 Mozo Experts Choice Award for Exceptional Everyday Account and Best Value Debit Card. The reason Australians are such big fans of the ING Everyday Orange bank account is because it is big on convenience and small on fees and charges. There is no account fee and as long as you deposit $1000 a month into the account and make at least 5 card purchases using your ING debit or credit card you'll never have to pay an ATM fee again, either at home or when travelling abroad.

Key features:

ING is an online only bank so there is no branch access but who needs it with online, 24 hour phone banking, BPAY and free ATMs?

With the Everyday Orange account you can use any ATM in Australia or overseas for free (if you deposit $1000 your ING account during the month, and also make 5 purchases using your ING debit or credit card in the month) so you don't have to worry about trekking across town looking for an ATM.

If you meet the above conditions, you can also spend on your card while overseas without paying an international transaction fee - making this a great pick for savvy travellers.

There's also no minimum opening deposit and no monthly account fees to pay, so this account should not cost you anything. But keep in mind you won't earn any money either. Like most transaction accounts the Orange Everyday does not pay any interest.

The Orange Everyday bank account comes with a VISA debit card (with PayWave), giving you the shopping freedom of a credit card without the credit maintenance worries.

Who it's good for:

Any Australian who is sick of being charged high ATM fees at home and abroad and is after a zero cost bank account.

Any catches?

You won't get any interest on your money in the ING Everyday Orange so keep your savings in high interest account and transfer cash over only when you need it and you will have the best of both worlds.

No bank fees

It's great that there's no bank fees at any ATMs. However, it is more tricky to deposit some money.

Great customer service, no ATM fees

I like banking with ING as there are no ATM fees if you have 1000 dollars a fortnight going into your account or something like that. They also do to the dollar app what some others paid apps do for free and their customer service is excellent.
