What are the Mozo Experts Choice Awards?

Now in their seventh year, the Mozo Experts Choice Awards provide a platform to highlight products in the marketplace we believe offer great value to Australian businesses.

For the 2020 Energy awards, we compared 415 small business energy plans from 37 energy providers. The award winners named in the table below offer the best value plans in each state in the areas of electricity, solar friendly electricity, 100% greenpower and gas according to Mozo’s analysis.

“Small businesses often rack up hefty energy bills, but small business owners are usually time poor. Our Energy Awards are run because we want to make it easier for Australian small business owners to find the best value energy plans possible,” said Mozo Experts Choice Awards Judge Peter Marshall.

“Whether you’re just starting up your small business, or have been operating for years, every cent that you can save on your energy plan is more profit for you.”

Small Business Electricity Retailer of the Year

Powerclub Logo

For the second year in a row, Powerclub has been named our Small Business Electricity Retailer of the Year for NSW, QLD, VIC and SA. Mozo’s expert analysis showed that they were one of the best value options available for small business customers. Congratulations.

Powerclub does things differently to other energy providers, so it’s important to understand their model. They charge an annual membership fee, and a usage charge per kWh, but they also require you to hold a cash buffer in a ‘Powerbank’ from which they will add or subtract the difference between the usage charge and the actual wholesale energy price.
