Now in their sixth year, the Mozo Experts Choice Awards are here to showcase the deposit products that our experts have determined to offer the best value to Australians.

For the 2019 savings account awards, Mozo’s money experts compared savings accounts from 68 financial institutions, organised in to a number of categories to help savers identify which best fits their needs and savings habits.

For details on how we crunched the numbers and determined the award winners see our methodology report.

Savings Bank of The Year

UBank logo

UBank has taken out Savings Bank of the Year for the second time running in 2019. It was the most successful institution in the awards this year across the full range of personal deposit accounts, including regular savings products, term deposits and everyday transaction accounts. With consistent wins under its belt and a proven track record, UBank offers great value to all different kinds of savers.

Regular Saver

Winners in the Regular Saver category pay bonus interest when savers meet certain criteria, like a monthly deposit amount or withdrawal conditions. These accounts allow savers to earn high interest on at-call funds, as long as they know they can stick to the conditions. Only accounts paying top-tier interest walk away with awards.

Best New Savings Account

This account from Bank of Queensland really stood out for its generous interest rate. This was far and away the best rate our experts could find for students up to the age of 24. We applaud a bank helping to boost the savings of young people at a time of life when they really need to be making the most of every dollar.
