Now in their seventh year, the Mozo Experts Choice Awards provide a platform to highlight products in the marketplace we believe offer great value to Australians.
For the 2020 credit card awards, we analysed 215 personal and 45 business credit card products issued by 72 Australian financial institutions.“Rewards credit cards have traditionally been very skewed towards travel and travel-related benefits and so with the COVID:19 pandemic, many people are now rethinking what they look for in a rewards card and program,” said Peter Marshall, Mozo Experts Choice Awards Judge.
Our winners list for 2020 is made up of the rewards credit cards that in our opinion provide the best overall value, no matter what rewards you are seeking, whether that’s gift cards, frequent flyer points or complimentary insurance.”
For details on how we crunched the numbers and determined our winners see our 2020 Mozo Experts Choice Awards Credit Card methodology report.

Cards with rewards offer a lot of incentives, so how do you find the best credit card for you? Our Mozo Experts developed a way of taking into account the number of points earned for every dollar spent, then calculating the value of some items commonly redeemed for those points. We wrapped it all up with the cost of the annual fee and found that these cards are more rewarding than the rest. See the winners below:
More often than not, fees can be larger on a premium rewards card than on a standard card, but so too can the rewards! Our Expert calculations were run to find which platinum, black, and titanium cards give the best rewards bang for your fee buck, and these came out on top:
Rewards cards that earn Qantas Frequent Flyer points can be great value, even though there might be limited opportunities to travel right now. But as long as you add points to your Qantas Frequent Flyer account at least every 18 months, the points will be ready and waiting for when you can use them.
The winners in this category not only offered great rewards points earning, the judges also assessed the value of other ongoing benefits such as free or discounted flights and lounge access.
To find the best premium Qantas Frequent Flyer rewards cards we assessed the value of points earned on a higher spend level than for the standard category, then assessed the value of any ongoing discounts including free or discounted flights and lounge access.
