Share trading can seem daunting at first with many of us not knowing where to begin. Well, the first thing you should consider is what kind of trading platform you want to use. Here we have an A-Z list of all the current share trading platforms on the Mozo database.
For trading on the stock market, you want to consider what market you’ll be investing in when selecting your trading platform. Generally speaking, most people in Australia tend to invest in either the Australian stock market or the US stock market (due in part to its tremendous size and the historic performance of indexes such as the S&P 500).
Australian Stock Exchange (ASX)
If you want to trade the vast majority of Australian publicly listed companies, the ASX is generally going to be your best bet.
New York Stock Exchange (NYSE)
The New York stock exchange, what most refer to as simply wall street, is the largest stock exchange in the world and home to some of the largest companies you can invest in.
London Stock Exchange (LSE)
The London stock exchange is for those of you who want to invest in the British stock market.
This is not a complete list of the various markets you can invest in, but many large exchanges exist such as the Hong Kong, Toronto, Shanghai stock exchanges to name a few.
Whichever market you choose to trade in can determine your share trading platform as some will only allow investments in a single market or—in the case of Australian share trading—may not offer CHESS sponsorship.
