I was with BoS for my homeloan for almost 2-3years. - Low introductory rates (at the time) - no on going fees For the first year, they passed on a few rate cuts, not in full…after the 1year mark it all changed. Didn’t pass on any rate cuts to existing customers, customer service dropped significantly. They wouldn’t even return my calls! I finally pulled the plug in Nov’21, after which I had a range of ‘exit fees’ which I wasn’t made aware. Since early November, I’ve been trying to follow up with BoS. I got an email to say my request has been raised and someone will reach out in a few days. After a week, I get an automated response that my case has been “resolved & closed”. I wasn’t contacted by anyone since my first call or even given the opportunity to explain my concern. I again replied to request my case remain open and someone calls me back, 1 week later another “case resolved & closed” email, no action. This has now happened 5 times, same outcome no action or call back. Next step is to formally raise a complaint with the ombudsman. Anyone considering BoS, for any service, I highly recommend you to re-consider!
More Bank of Sydney home loan customer reviewsTheir general banking procedures are very clunky - could never do anything I asked over the phone, instead requiring me to send a 'secure message' via online banking (that times out before you are done without telling you! and you lose the message you've carefully composed when you try to send), then once you re-type your instructions, you require an sms code to even be able to send the message, despite the fact that you are logged into your online banking and sending the message from and within their secure mailbox! Then they call you on the phone to confirm your instructions despite refusing to accept your instructions over the phone in the first place. There is also no way to get more than $10K (either transfer or bpay) via online banking, regardless of your transfer limits without incurring a substantial fee. I'm switching, I've had enough hassle!
