According to our experts, the Value Visa Card lives up to its name, as in took out a best No Annual Fee Credit Card Award at the 2023 Mozo Experts Choice Awards.
The Hume Value Visa card comes with a low purchase rate of 11.95%. If you pay your balance off in full each month you'll get up to 55 interest free days. It has zero annual fees so, if you're looking to keep a credit card in your wallet for occasional purposes then this is a great choice as it won't cost you a cent in annual fees.
The card is connected via the Visa network so you can make purchases in Australia and overseas whereever Visa is accepted. The card is chip enabled so for purchases under $100 you can just tap and pay. If you're using the card overseas or shopping online at international stores, there is a 2.85% foreign exchange margin on the AUD purchase amount. This is standard for many credit cards.
While cash advances are available with the Value Visa, the interest rate charged is higher at 19.95%. And unlike purchases, with cash advances there are no interest free days, you will start paying interest immediately.
You can get an additional card at no extra cost.
This card is best for people who want the option of a credit card but don't intend to use it a lot, or need rewards. This is because the card has no annual fee, and makes it effectively free if you aren't ever late with your repayments.
There is a $20 late payment fee, so make sure that you set up automatic monthly repayments to avoid this.

Hume Building Society, an absolutely amazing place to deal with. Can actually call and speak with a person! Fantastic customer service, no charge for a having a credit card with them either, I wish I had found them years ago, traditional banks need a real good shake up! I haven't found any cons, just read all the stuff that comes with your cards! Obviously penalties as with all banks apply if you don't pay on time. I have two credit cards with them, Visa gold and Visa loyalty.
