RACQ customers have access to 24/7 customer service and an extensive branch network for services including roadside assistance and home insurance queries. Not to mention the fact that the provider picked up eight Mozo People's Choice Awards in 2023, in both the home and car insurance categories.
We have our two cars and also our full household comprehensive insurance with RACQ. Have had an car insurance claim in the last twelve months and they were very easy to deal with and arranged everything. Changed our household insurance to them from Suncorp purely because they had more competitive rates. Would recommend them.
RACQ Home Insurance deserves zero stars for their appalling handling of my recent claim. When an iron fell onto my couch, burning my hand in the process, we filed a claim. Initially, RACQ accepted it, but then they reversed their decision, rejecting the claim because the couch was "melted, not burnt." This excuse is beyond frustrating. Were we supposed to let it burn down to meet their technicalities? This company clearly lacks compassion and common sense. A genuine accident occurred, resulting in damage to the couch, yet they backtracked and left us with no support. Save yourself the hassle and look elsewhere for home insurance – RACQ does not prioritise its customers or their needs.
