Cardholders who sign up for the Skye Mastercard have the option of choosing a card with MOTION CODE™ technology, which replaces the static CVV code for a digital one that changes every hour for added security, no matter if you’re at home or globetrotting.

Another feature serving travellers is the no foreign transaction fee, as well as 24/7 Skye self-service and an overseas helpline in case of emergencies.

You can also enjoy 110 days interest-free, but you’ll be wise to stay on top of repayments to avoid the 23.99% purchase rate and $35 late payment fee. There are a fair few other fees to be aware of, including the $99 annual fee, $20 new or replacement MOTION CODE™ card fee, $10 additional cardholder fee and a $15 payment dishonour charge. Some are avoidable, but you'll have to bite the bullet on others.

An added option available to Skye Mastercard holders is the ability to convert purchases of over $250 to a SkyePlan, which is a 9, 12 or 15 month instalment plan incurring no interest whatsoever. Keep in mind you’ll have to pay a small establishment fee for this option, which is dependent on the total amount payable.

    BAD customer service.

    At application process they had my last name incorrectly spelt. I filled in a letter they asked for me to fill in to update my surname and they still didn't update my name or send out a correct card stating my actual correct surname. I was on the same annual income as the beginning of my initial application (I lowered my credit limit) and I asked for an increase some time later as I needed help for lawyer fees to settle my divorce and Skye wouldn't allow an increase, despite regular and ongoing repayments and having the same annual income. The staff would take up to even a week to respond and lack of customer service. At no point was I ever satisfied with customer service.

    Stay away!

    I am (or was) a customer of "Flexigroup" aka Skye Mastercards. Their customer service is terrible. I have rang for two weeks now to try have my credit card account closed after being payed, each time led on a goose chase. They reported a late payment on my spotless credit file due to a misunderstanding and refuse to remove it, so i am forced to take legal action. Stay away!
