Energy Locals aims to provide Aussies with clean electricity at fair and affordable prices. It’s a social enterprise which allows communities to set up their own energy plan, so that profits from your electricity bills go towards supporting local charities or community groups.
At the moment, Energy Locals is available only to customers in NSW and southeast Queensland.
Energy Locals offers electricity plans for homes and businesses. When you sign up, you’ll need to search for energy plans in your area and choose one that supports whichever group or organisation you want. The plans come with no exit fees or lock-in contracts, plus carbon offsets for all your energy use.
If you’ve got solar panels installed, you’ll be happy to hear Energy Locals offers a very generous solar rebate.
Energy Locals buy carbon offsets to make your energy consumption carbon neutral and eco-friendly.
Want to support the Greenpower initiative? You can add 10%, 20%, 50% or 100% Greenpower to your plan.
Clear, simple rates, no conditional discounts and a Standing offer that’s the same as the Market rate means your electricity bill will be super easy to understand.
Energy Locals have made a unique promise to their customers to never increase customer prices for the sake of profits.
Manage your account and pay bills online using either free direct debit or a credit or debit card for a 1% fee.
You can sign up for an Energy Locals electricity plan online. When you fill out your details, if you’re switching from another provider, Energy Locals will take care of sending a request to your current electricity company to free you from your plan.
This won’t affect your electricity supply, and you won’t be charged anything until your plan is switched over, which happens the next time your meter is read.
The Mozo communicty has rated Energy Locals products and services on different specifications ranging from pricing and bill clarity to customer satisfaction and green energy.
How are Energy Locals rated by the Mozo community?
Great rates, the only thing I don't like is that it shows a total credit paid rather than dates and amounts paid (I pre-pay my bills by making weekly payments). I get my bills monthly. Great deals for Tesla power wall in SA.
Don't chop trees if there's no need to; just to build on site.
