Foodland wins big in Mozo People’s Choice Awards for range and freshness

In the Mozo People’s Choice Awards for household services, we set out to discover which supermarkets rank among Aussies’ favourites. This year, we’re proud to announce that South Australia-based Foodland was among the star performers, taking home not one but two awards!

When it comes to supermarkets, there are a lot of factors that can make or break a store in customers’ eyes, and Foodland performed spectacularly in two of the more important ones: range of products and freshness.

Of course, this won’t come as a surprise to regular shoppers at the South Australia-based supermarket. With a huge range of quality products, including over 200 which come under the Foodland brand, and a commitment to supporting local producers, Foodland has managed to carve out quite the reputation among South Australians. Its recent accolades only underscore this.

What sets Foodland apart?

When you walk into a store, you want to be confident that it’s going to have what you’re looking for and that it won’t be an ordeal to find. And if it’s produce that you’re after, it’s safe to say that freshness is pretty high up on your priority list. On both of these fronts, Foodland delivers.

But there are plenty more reasons why Foodland has managed to get into so many people’s good books. The Foodland Brand sources 50% of products from South Australian manufacturers. What’s more, the supermarket has strong ties to the community, and for 50 years has been supporting local schools, charities and sporting clubs.

Its dual wins are made even more impressive by the fact that Foodland is based only in South Australia. With just over 100 stores in the state - a fraction of the number of Coles and Woolworths stores that are scattered across the country - Foodland faced stiff competition. But despite a smaller customer base relative to the national chains, Foodland still managed to stand out.

About the Mozo People’s Choice Awards

Unlike the Mozo Experts Choice Awards, in which our in-house team of experts comb through the market to discover the best products and services, the Mozo People’s Choice Awards turn to everyday Australians to tell us what they think. More than 3,200 Aussies were surveyed on their favourite supermarkets, with 10 stores considered.

Among the categories that respondents were able to vote on were: customer satisfaction, range of products, freshness, value for money, store environment, staff friendliness, and most recommended.

If you’d like to see which other supermarkets scored well, or look at the other services that were recognised, be sure to check out the full list of Mozo People's Choice Award winners. The categories we covered were quite far-ranging, and include NBN and electricity providers, streaming platforms, and food delivery services, just to name a few.
