If you’re after a no-frills, comprehensive car insurance policy and don’t mind managing your insurance online, then Bingle Comprehensive Car Insurance could work for you. This policy packs the most critical aspects of comprehensive cover into a seriously affordable package for those with the tightest of budgets.
As an online company, Bingle saves on the overheads associated with big branches and instead focuses on delivering a nifty online insurance experience for its customers while keeping premiums low. You can lodge all claims online on the spot and then track progress digitally.
But don’t let Bingle’s lack of bricks and mortar branches fool you, this comprehensive car insurance policy really comes to your aid in the event of an accident with towing, emergency accommodation and emergency transport costs all covered as standard. You can also rest easy knowing that if your car keys are stolen, Bingle will cover the costs to replace them too.
There are also a few features that aren’t covered as part of Bingle’s standard Comprehensive Car Insurance policy. If you’d like the added security of new car replacement or to have the costs of a rental car covered after an accident or theft, then you’ll need to elect for those features as additional extras.
This policy represents a great low cost option for those who want to be covered in the event of an accident but don’t mind going without some of comforts associated with more expensive policies. Bingle Comprehensive Car Insurance is also a really good option if you enjoy managing your insurance online and don’t mind the lack of physical branches.
Just be aware that this policy comes with a $600 young driver excess even if they are listed on your policy (and up to a $1,950 unlisted driver excess), so make sure you trust any drivers under the age of 25 who might be getting behind the wheel of your pride and joy.

I'm seriously impressed with Bingle. My policy is so much cheaper than any other insurance company, but even better, the claims process was so easy. I had someone I could call but didn't need to because it all went smoothly. Found out the repairers are the same used by the big expensive companies, so it's basically the same product but you pay less. Why wouldn'tya!?! I've got my family to move their insurance over.

For a company that's all about being "online", I'm surprised that the online portal doesn't work. I started my claim last week and every day the portal gives the same response. It's very difficult locating Bingle's actual phone number. My claim has seen terrible procrastination - I have been told it will take 5 days just to assign an assessor to my claim. My recommendation is to go with a full service insurer rather than a budget option.

Bingle's comprehensive car policy is one of the cheaper policies on the market. Unfortunately that isn't the same thing as value for money. Everything is fine with Bingle as long as you don't require any customer service quickly, e.g. to arrange a tow after a breakdown. No readily available contact number / personnel other than online. Which doesn't help when you have to get a vehicle off a busy road. If you want cheap insurance Bingle is worth looking at but make sure you have external roadside assist or emergency back up with someone else, e.g. RACV. Don't rely on Bingle's roadside assist. Bingle customer service isn't great. They say they are an online insurer and that is exactly how it works. Don't expect someone to pick up the phone in an emergency and always have your mobile device battery charged if you need to make contact with them. Don't risk insuring with them if you travel in remote areas.
