Our verdict

ROLLiN' Comprehensive Car Insurance keeps things simple. The flat $800 excess for all listed drivers takes the guesswork out, and there’s no extra excess for younger drivers, which is good news for families. Just be sure to name all your regular drivers upfront—otherwise, you’re looking at a $3,000 excess if an unlisted driver has an accident.

The $0 excess on windscreen repairs for your first claim is a handy feature, and the monthly premiums don’t come with extra fees, so it feels more like a rolling subscription you can cancel whenever you need to.

ROLLiN' is pushing the tech envelope with its Safe ‘n Save app, recently rolled out for private drivers. The app connects to your car’s computer via telematics, tracking your driving habits to help you improve and potentially lower your premium.

On the downside, you don’t get a choice of repairer, but repairs are covered with a lifetime guarantee. There’s also no roadside assistance, which might be inconvenient if you’re looking for all-in-one coverage.

Overall, if you’re looking for a policy that’s easy to manage and gives you the chance to lower your premium based on how well you drive, ROLLiN’ is worth considering. Just keep that unlisted driver excess in mind if other people are using your car.

Important disclosures

ROLLiN' aims to shake up the car insurance market with its streamlined, no-fuss approach. Here's what sets ROLLiN' apart:

ROLLiN' car insurance FAQs

Does ROLLiN' offer choice of excess?

No, ROLLiN' keeps it simple with a flat $800 excess for all listed drivers. While it’s not the lowest out there, it’s far from the highest, and importantly, it includes young drivers—a group that could otherwise add hundreds to your excess with other insurers. There’s a $3,000 excess for unlisted drivers, but that’s easily avoided by making sure everyone who drives your car is added to the policy.

Is there a cooling-off period for ROLLiN' car insurance?

Yes, ROLLiN' provides a 14-day cooling-off period. If you cancel within 14 days of purchasing your policy and no claims have been made, you’ll receive a full refund. The cooling off period does not apply to renewals, since it’s a month-to-month renewal arrangement anyway.

Does ROLLiN' cover modifications to my car?

Modifications are only covered if they’re agreed upon with ROLLiN' and included in your policy. Be sure to check your policy schedule and refer to the PDS for full details.

How does ROLLiN' determine the value of my car?

ROLLiN' uses a single car value system, based on factors like your car's age, mileage, and a valuation from RedBook. This replaces the traditional agreed or market value options.

How do I make a claim with ROLLiN'?

You can file a claim with ROLLiN' online or by calling their 24/7 claims service. The process is straightforward, and ROLLiN' also offers support through their customer service team to help with any queries.
