Australia’s most trusted home insurance revealed in 2020 Mozo People’s Choice Awards
Once again Australia has voted for its favourite home insurance providers. The people have spoken loud and clear and this time round they’re chanting the names Apia, NRMA, RAC, RACQ, GIO and Youi!
That’s right the long standing Mozo People’s Choice Awards are back. A staple for over a decade, these awards have seen us through times when lounging around at home in low-rise jeans was optional, to the present day when choosing to stay at home and bake bread is actually saving lives.
In fact, with the recent bushfire crisis, flooding and the ongoing global pandemic, it could be argued that home and contents insurance is more relevant in 2020 than it has ever been.
Who voted in the 2020 Mozo People’s Choice Awards for home insurance?
Thousands of Aussies voted in a survey conducted by independent market research company IPSOS, to determine the winners of the Mozo People’s Choice Awards. Among those who voted, more than 2,000 voted for their favourite home insurance provider.
Of the fifty home insurance providers to vote for, six managed to bag an award. Voters judged insurance providers on their overall customer satisfaction, trustworthiness, sign-up process, claims process and finally how likely they were to recommend the insurer to a friend or family member.

Customer Satisfaction & Experience
To kick things off, voters were asked to share their opinion on the overall customer satisfaction and experience with each insurance provider.
Apia, NRMA, RAC, RACQ and Youi all came out on top, scooping up Mozo People’s Choice Awards for both Outstanding Customer Satisfaction and Excellent Customer Experience. In fact, these were just two of five home insurance awards RAC and Youi bagged.

Sign-Up & Claims Experience
Three home insurance providers managed to stand out from the crowd when it came to offering a quick and easy sign up process and they were ... *drumroll* ... Apia, NRMA and Youi!
Of those three winners, Apia and NRMA joined GIO and RAC in winning the Excellent Claims Experience Award. Voters were impressed with the way these four insurers dealt with their claim come crunch time.

Highly Trusted & Most Recommended
Finally, voters shared their opinion on which insurers actually follow through on their promises and which insurers they would be most likely to recommend to a family member or friend.
Apia, NRMA, RAC, RACQ and Youi all brought home (pun intended) the gong for the Mozo People’s Choice Award for most Highly Trusted home insurance provider. It seems that as far as the voters are concerned, these five insurers can be trusted to treat their customers fairly.
Plus, of the five insurers who won the Highly Trusted award, voters would go so far as to recommend four of those to a friend or family member: Apia, NRMA, RAC and Youi.
So there you have it. Beyond all expert opinions, facts, figures and fancy marketing campaigns, the Mozo People’s Choice Awards have once again highlighted which home insurance providers really are walking the walk and talking the talk.
