Today, leading financial comparison site Mozo is proud to announce the winners of the Mozo Experts Choice Awards for Travel Insurance 2025, spotlighting the insurers who offer the most Exceptional Value and Quality travel insurance for Aussie travellers.

In this cost of living crisis, it’s more important than ever for Aussie consumers to make sure they are getting the best deal they can. It’s exciting planning a holiday, but it's easy to forget to research the best travel insurance. 

That’s why the experts at Mozo have analysed a whopping 166 travel insurance policies from 51 providers to take the sting out of the research process and help Aussie travelers get back to planning the fun stuff.

“Since 2015 Mozo has recognised the best of the best in Travel Insurance, highlighting the stand out insurers as winners of the Mozo Experts Choice Awards,” says AJ Duncanson, Data Director and Mozo Experts Choice Awards Judge.

“These awards were established to make it easier for Australians to find the best travel insurance policy, whether they prioritise quality of cover or cost of policy, without having to compare dozens of quotes.”

“The awards have been around for over ten years now, so our experts know exactly what to look for when it comes to travel cover. Our team has identified which travel insurers offer the best value or the highest quality travel insurance policies, awarding them as our well-deserving winners,” says Duncanson.

Identifying the winning brands

The expert judges at Mozo identify winners irrespective of any commercial relationship,  so Aussie travelers can have confidence award winning providers were chosen solely on merit. It’s one of the reasons why Mozo awards are so well-regarded by both providers and consumers in Australia.

The Mozo Experts Choice Awards for Travel Insurance 2025 recognise the industry leaders in value and quality over six insurance categories, Essential, Comprehensive, Annual Multi-Trip, Medical Only, Cruise, and Ski Travel Insurance. 

“Not all customers are looking for the same thing, and different travel insurance policies have different strengths. We think it’s important to show why a product has been awarded,” says Duncanson.

Travel Insurance Saver named Australia’s Best Travel Insurer

Through a rigorous valuation process, Travel Insurance Saver has been crowned Australia’s best Travel Insurer for 2025. 

“Travel Insurance Saver’s policies performed the best overall across all of the individual award categories,” explains Duncanson.

“This included taking home 3 Exceptional Value categories: Comprehensive, Annual Multi-Trip and Cruise Travel Insurance, as well as achieving high scores in the Exceptional Quality categories.”

Butter Insurance named Highly Commended Travel Insurer

Having just launched its Travel Insurance offering in 2024, Butter Insurance is a new standout in the industry. Scoring exceptionally well across multiple award categories, it was a performance worthy of our Highly Commended Travel Insurer Award. 

“Butter Insurance’s travel insurance policy won an award for Exceptional Value Essential Travel Insurance, and the policy's flexibility also achieved a strong score for Exceptional Quality.”
