Westpac was also named Australia’s Best Major Bank in 2021 after scoring the same win the previous year. To top it off it also scored a 2023 Mozo People's Choice Award for both Internet Banking Experience and Excellent Customer Service.
These people are merciless. They have no care of concern for their customers. They also have no interest in helping or negotiating with you if you have less than a 1 million dollar loan with them. With a mortgage of $475K, I was told that I was an "easy loss" for the bank.
I find it hard to say anything good about westpacs customer ethics especially the refund policy contradicts itself by the way they handled cyber fraud attack on my account loosing at least 30.000 over a few months when I brought it to their attention they claim to refund all of it on the website bit different when it happens they refused to look at it professionally trued to blame me for allowing such things belittled me to the point I didn't want to continue with. My dispute they had alot more to do with it than I'll ever find out I asurethst much disgusted completely and still no rectification on my account just gotta sit around bieng poor and homeless thanks Westpac booooo
Good in-person service, and quite a few options.
The tax office gave us the largest taxi bill of our lives when we’re not even rich and I cried for about a week before having to sort out 2 personal loans to pay for it. Westpac were so lovely in helping us work out the best method. This was so upsetting so they helped us work it All out.

I am impressed with the fraud/security that Westpac have over their customers. I am just a simple bank account customer yet when I was robbed on a visit to the city roughly 2yrs ago the offenders used my debit cards making tap and go purchases and after speaking to one of the customer support team members who put me thru to a "Fraud Team Member" all the necessary steps were put in place to prevent anymore unauthorised purchases being made and also a refund for those fraudulent transactions was deposited back into my account within 7-10days making this all less stressful and turned my scary story of being robbed whilst in the city to a tale of survival and courage with the support of a big bank !! So thankyou Westpac.
An absolute rip-off stay away at all costs
Westpac Bank Of Melbourne was combative and dismissive of my claim for earthquake damage to my property and I feel they knocked back claims to make the policy holder go to the Ombudsman and so delay payment -very cynical and underhanded treatment of the Insured after 10 yrs holding that policy and other house policies with them for twenty five years -they are not trustworthy
