The Westpac Choice transaction account delivers an easy option for anyone looking to access their funds quickly and manage daily transactions. There’s a $5 monthly account-keeping fee. However, if you’re under 30 or a full-time student, you won’t have to pay it. Alternatively, if you deposit $2,000 or more each month, the fee is waived.
Westpac is part of the Global ATM Alliance , giving you access to a huge network of fee-free ATMs around the world. Be aware that some ATMs may still charge their own fees. There are international transaction fees on card purchases made in currencies other than the Australian Dollar (AUD).

They have seemed to be helpful in the past when I have contacted by phone and dealt with my issues in a timely manner. The online banking is easy to navigate and self explanatory. Customer service has been very good when entering the bank in person. Staff are pleasant and courteous.

I am impressed with the fraud/security that Westpac have over their customers. I am just a simple bank account customer yet when I was robbed on a visit to the city roughly 2yrs ago the offenders used my debit cards making tap and go purchases and after speaking to one of the customer support team members who put me thru to a "Fraud Team Member" all the necessary steps were put in place to prevent anymore unauthorised purchases being made and also a refund for those fraudulent transactions was deposited back into my account within 7-10days making this all less stressful and turned my scary story of being robbed whilst in the city to a tale of survival and courage with the support of a big bank !! So thankyou Westpac.

I do like the ability of the choice account to be split into different sections so I can save for different things. I also purchased an item online that turned out to be a scam and westpac investigated it and I successfully had money returned. Westpac digital credit card is very convenient.
I find the bank provides easy access to all venues and customer service is always very good. It suits my needs as a person who needs multiple accounts for things like rent, bills, savings etc. I enjoy the interest that I gain in my accounts. I find the online platform easy to navigate.

I've been with them for many years but over those years I've been hacked 3 times money disappears and no-one can explain where it went I wouldn't recommend Westpac .

Westpac is an Authorised Deposit-taking Institution (ADI) regulated by the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA). This means your deposits are protected under the Australian Government's Financial Claims Scheme, safeguarding up to $250,000.

To set up online banking, visit the Westpac website and register. Provide your personal details. Once registered, you can manage your account through your digital profile on the website or app.
A monthly account-keeping fee of $5 is applicable. However, if you’re under 30 years of age, a full-time tertiary student or a concession card holder you can be exempt from this cost.
Additionally, if you’re new to Australia, you’ll pay no account-keeping fees for the first 12 months of opening your Westpac Choice account.
