Even though my wife and I live quite remotely from any of BCU Bank's branches, for over 17 years we retiree "senior citizens" have enjoyed the ability to conduct our banking business easily, either online or via telephone assistance. Recently via phone interactions with Joanne Cooke, we resolved Account ownership issues quickly, effectively and efficiently. Like BCU Bank's Account specialists and phone support staff more generally, we appreciated Joanne's friendly, patient approach and ability to quickly understand the issues we faced. At the end of our first late-afternoon conversation, Joanne summarised for us actions she would initiate on behalf of BCU. In spite of an emergency evacuation event, those actions were completed by early on the next business day. In the interim, we discovered further issues related to a dormant Membership. Joanne helped us resolve them in the same manner during a second phone call. Many organisations would do well to study and emulate this level of customer service!
A small bank that punches above its weight in service. Great people who care about people.
I am still waiting to see if BCU will give me back the $2,500 that was scammed from my account 4 weeks ago, seems you only need details of a driver's license for them to allow a fraudster to drain this money within less than 2 hours. The scammers were allowed by Optus to port our phones, the only details on the phones were our drivers' licenses. They then used my wife's license to access our account. The funny part is she has never activated a card since we opened the account in 2018, you have to ask how this can happen, as the account was not used by us for day-to-day banking, only as a way to save money. So, after 4 weeks of no interaction other than the local staff who have been great, no one can tell me if or when we will get our money back, our other bank St George returned our 5K within 24 hours.
BCU is a great, community-minded, customer oriented bank. Their savings account interest rates are competitive and they have a good choice of options for savings accounts. It's always a pleasure going into the bank and receiving excellent customer service
No skills from them branch manager, by being a bully they received their position! Treating staff so they were so terrified of what you could do to them by being in charge, just because the staff may have had the skills that maybe you should of had! So scared that maybe you would of been caught out! Due to no skills in the role / position you bullied yourself into! Your skills were being a bully only! Funny how these people climb to the top on being a bully because staff are so scared of what bully’s can do to you, so sad because maybe they were good at their job and you were scared of being found out that you did not have the skills needed apart from being a bully and making people so scared of what you could do to them? So they resigned! How often does this happen! How often do we witness this happening!
BCU is the first credit union i have been with. I am so impressed with the customer service. The staff are more than willing to help with any issues no matter how big or small.
They treat their customers as real people and service is first class.
Bank is good but branch hours in small towns are limited.

I have had trouble with a bank that I had been with for forty years. I was literally robbed by a member of the staff, with no apologies from the bank. l tried the Bendigo Bank support and was surprised how much they care about their customers and how much effort they put into each and every transaction that you have there no matter how big or small.
