The Virgin Australia Velocity Flyer Card has an annual fee of $129 and a standard purchase rate of 20.74% p.a. The 0% p.a. balance transfer offer for 24 months (then 20.99% p.a. after) is one of the longest balance transfer offers currently available, so if you're looking to crush debt, this could be the incentive you need.
Even if you're not interested in the balance transfer offer, the Virgin Velocity Flyer Card has some great perks. Each year you’ll get a $129 Virgin Australia Gift Voucher, absolutely free. As for what you’ll be able to redeem with your points, 7,800 points will get you a one-way trip from Sydney to Melbourne, 119,600 will get you a return trip from Sydney to London, and 19,500 will get you a $129 Virgin Australia Credit each year.
You’ll be able to earn 0.66 points per dollar spent on Visa, capped at $1,500 per month and put directly into your Velocity Frequent Flyer account. After that, you’ll get 0.5 points for every dollar. Thankfully, points never expire, so you won’t have to worry that all your effort will have been for naught if you don’t redeem them fast enough.
You can also have up to 4 additional cardholders, so you and your partner can each work towards gathering those points. Just remember there are up to 55 interest free days to pay off what you owe before the interest rate of 20.74% p.a. kicks in, as long as you pay off the full balance each month. Interest free days also don't apply if you have a balance transfer.
The Virgin Australia Velocity Flyer Card could be a good option if you're looking to wipe away some debt this year, as long as you are diligent about paying down the balance in the period.
It is also a good card for loyal Velocity frequent flyers as you'll be able to boost your account by making everyday purchases and cash in on a $129 Virgin Australia gift card which effectively makes the annual card fee $0.
If you do take up the balance transfer offer, be aware that any remaining debt that isn't paid off within the 24 month period will revert to the 20.99% p.a. cash advance rate.
Also, if you do have a balance transfer on this card, the normal 55 day interest free period on new purchases won't apply and you'll start paying interest immediately, so keep your new spending to a minimum and pay it off as quickly as you can.

Virgin Money were always easy to talk to and offer you good savings. If you have trouble meeting payments they offer your balance as a loan so you can pay it off.

But you can't earn bonus points with Balance transfer which we understood only after activating the card. Or they charge interest for the entire balance transfer if you use for balance credit.
