The energy providers helping small business owners save
When it comes to choosing an energy plan for your small business, it’s easy to just go with what you know. But what if you could shave hundreds (or thousands!) off your energy bill just by picking the right provider?
The 2018 Mozo Experts Choice Energy Awards can do just that, helping you save your hard earned pennies by offering up the cheapest energy plans for small businesses in Australia.

Cheapest small business energy plans in NSW
In NSW, the provider that took out the most gongs, landing themselves Electricity Retailer of the Year, was QEnergy. CovaU also took out two gongs across the categories, with Lumo Energy and AGL not far behind with one award each.

“The winners are continuing to do their part to cut energy prices for small businesses.”
Cheapest small business energy plans in VIC
Tango Energy took out four awards across all Victoria Small Business Awards categories, which in combination with it’s wins in the Residential Energy Awards, earned it the title of Electricity Retailer of the Year.
Other winners included Lumo Energy and Alinta Energy, with two awards each, and AGL in Small Business Green Electricity category.
Marshall noted that of all the states, Victoria had the most to show, winning nine Small Business Energy Awards in total, meaning small business owners are spoiled for choice.

Cheapest small business energy plans in SA
“The SA Small Business Energy Awards exist to give South Australian small business owners the information they need to pick an energy plan that will save them money when they need it the most,” said Marshall.
South Australia’s Mozo Experts Choice Small Business Energy award winners included QEnergy, Lumo Energy and AGL, who all won two awards apiece. Alinta Energy also took out an award in the Small Business Electricity category.
Cheapest small business energy plans in QLD
In Queensland, Powershop took out a staggering four Small Business Energy Awards, contributing to their win of Queensland Electricity Retailer of the Year. Both EnergyAustralia and Origin Energy received an award for their solar-friendly plan and gas plan respectively.
“Powershop’s performance in our Experts Choice Small Business Energy Awards was exceptional, and their wins across multiple categories was what lead them to take out the top spot as QLD Energy Provider of the year,” said Marshall.
Cheapest small business energy plans in the ACT
EnergyAustralia and Energy Locals wowed in the ACT Small Business Energy Awards, taking out two gongs each, followed by Origin Energy with a win in the Small Business Gas Plan category.
“Even if you’re already with one of the big providers who took out awards in the ACT, it’s worth making sure that the plan you’re on is the best possible option,” said Marshall.

How were the winners found?
In finding the winners, the Mozo Experts Choice judges worked tirelessly comparing 133 products from 27 small business energy retailers in NSW, QLD, the ACT, VIC and SA. The winning providers were rewarded for either their general electricity, solar-friendly, green power or gas plans, and in some cases, for more than one category.
“Whilst the features required to win varied between categories, all of the awards were granted to those providing the cheapest option given the conditions,” said Marshall.
“We run the Energy Awards because we want to make it easier for Australians to find the best value plans possible, and with small businesses often racking up quite the energy bill, we want to help them save where they can.”
